The Utah State Aggies will be in Baton Rouge Saturday to take the field against the LSU Tigers. The Aggies have built an impressive 3-1 record on the season but will have their hands full against the Tigers. Utah State was able to find the win column with a 34-24 victory over Colorado State last week.
There’s something different about the LSU offense this season. It’s no longer pound the ball up the middle until someone breaks. The Tigers have both an offensive coordinator and a quarterback who are more than aggressive when it comes to moving the ball downfield.

LSU will look to remain undefeated on the season and move to 5-0. However, if they want to make a move up in next week’s poll, they will need to light up the scoreboard as much as possible. Shouldn’t be too difficult, right?
Utah State Aggies
The Utah State Aggies were able to come away with a 34-24 win against Colorado State last Saturday. Quarterback Jordan Love had his moments throwing the ball with 204 yards and two touchdowns while completing 17-33 attempts. He was also able to connect with two Colorado State defenders for two interceptions in the game.
Running back Gerold Bright took on the role of workhorse with 179 rushing yards on 36 carries. Caleb Repp was the leading receiver with three receptions for 60 yards and a score. Devin Thompkins was equally impressive for 55 yards and a touchdown of his own on three catches.
The Aggies have been able to put up solid numbers this season. They’ve found the endzone for an average of 38.5 points per game while giving up 21.5 to their opponents. They have accumulated 533 total yards per game, 326.3 through the air and over 206 on the ground.

Defensively, they give up an average of 263.5 passing yards per game to go along with a buck 14 on the ground.
LSU Tigers
The LSU Tigers will be looking to remain undefeated on the year, as well as move up a spot or two in the polls this week if they can. They’re currently sitting at 5th in the AP Poll and 6th on the list the coaches throw together. A huge win here could go a long way.
Quarterback Joe Burrow has been something amazing to watch this season. The kid has connected on 100 of 124 passes for 1.520 yards and 17 touchdowns with only two interceptions. Ja’Marr Chase has been his go-to man, hauling in 20 receptions for 397 yards and five scores. Running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire has been a handful for opposing defenses, galloping for 5.6 yards per carry and crossing the goal line five times himself.
If there’s a question mark with the Tigers it’s on their defense. Yes, they’re undefeated. That being said, they gave up a huge game to the Texas Longhorns and have allowed some weaker programs to move the ball.
Week 6 college football action sees the #UtahState Aggies a -24.5 dog away to #LSU. The O/U is set at 71. What side are you on? #Betting

They are giving up 23.3 points per game. They allow the other guys to move the ball for an average of 320 yards per game, 223.5 through the air with only 96.5 on the ground. I know, I know. Those are solid numbers. But they gave up 38 points to both Texas and Vandy.
Utah State won’t be an issue this week, but there are definitely a few kinks to work out before they start playing tougher SEC teams.

Free Week 6 NCAA Football Pick
Covering 24.5 points can be difficult, regardless of who you’re playing. When you add in the fact that Utah State’s offense can throw the ball and the LSU defense has had some weak spots, I’m not comfortable playing this spread.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick:
What I do like is the total going over 71. As I mentioned earlier, LSU needs to get all the attention they can. Depending on the poll you follow, the Tigers have a few teams ahead of them that might not lose a game this season. Huge numbers here will go a long way and I think the Tigers light the scoreboard up.
