MWC rivals UNLV and Wyoming meet this weekend from War Memorial Stadium in Laramie, Wyoming.
These teams last met in 2016 with the Rebels escaping Wyoming 69-66.
Tonight, after dropping their undefeated record last week vs. Tulsa, Wyoming holds the upper hand odds-wise over UNLV.
UNLV Rebels
Having dropped two-of-three following a week one win vs. Southern Utah, the Rebels were outscored 77-31 against Arkansas State and Northwestern.

Challenged on both sides of the ball, UNLV allowed Freshman Wildcats running back Drake Anderson 141 yards and one touchdown in last week’s 30-14 setback.
During that contest, Rebels Junior tailback Charles Williams gained 144 yards and two scores. However, Williams’ effort became the lone bright spot in an otherwise poor UNLV showing.
Defensively, the Rebels allowed Northwestern 441 overall yards and took five sacks from a raucous Wildcats defense. Pressured all afternoon, UNLV Quarterback Armani Rogers (16-of-26 attempts, one interception) never had an opportunity to involve his recievers or advance field position.
Similarly, during a 43-17 week three thumping, the Rebels allowed six sacks and were embarrassed by upstart Arkansas State.
If UNLV hopes to compete today vs. a respectable Wyoming defense, pass protection must be emphasized.

Wyoming Cowboys
After a grinding 24-21 road loss to Tulsa, Wyoming looks to rebound this week opposite UNLV.
At their best, and during a week one stunner vs. Missouri, Wyoming has successfully run the football. Averaging 216 ground yards per game, led by redshirt Freshman Quarterback Sean Chambers’ four rushing touchdowns and 279 yards, the Cowboys pose dual threat options.
Along with a sturdy defensive edge attack, Chambers will look to push Wyoming past an outmatched UNLV group Saturday.
If Wyoming’s defensive backs can build upon their 17.5 total sacks, the Rebels’ creaky offensive front shouldn’t be much aid to UNLV’s offensive cause. Conversely, any Cowboys offense should put this game away early.
Though, it will greatly benefit Wyoming if Chambers keeps the Rebels’ defense guessing while involving receivers Raghib Ismail Jr., Austin Conway and Ayden Eberhardt.

Free Week 5 NCAA Football Pick
This Mountain West encounter sports the feel of a pace-grinder, which favors defensively superior Wyoming. With UNLV’s protection issues noted, Chambers needs his offensive line to create space to open his touch-and-go passing game.
For good measure, Sophomore Cowboys Running Back Xazavian Valladay could use a week-one flashback where he gained 118 yards and one touchdown opposite Missouri.
4* Free NCAA Betting Prediction: Wyoming Covers and Strong Lean Under Total
Wyoming will cover this weekend. However, lacking a true passing game, and with offensive gaps, the Cowboys won’t jump past 30 points. That stated, Wyoming’s defense has the potential to keep UNLV’s total even lower. I’m definitely fading the 50 point total in this one.
