Expectations are huge for Big Blue and the results from week one did nothing to change that. Their early schedule is pretty easy and they are expected to put up some very lopsided results until things pick up in October.
This game definitely qualifies.
UCF was winless last season so getting that monkey off their back in week one, even against a FCS opponent, matters.
They still might not win another game all season long but at least Scott Frost appears to be putting his stamp on the team. Still this one might be pretty ugly.
The Knights were a big surprise to have fallen so far last season.
They cleaned house and brought in Scott Frost who will attempt to turn them into Oregon East. Last week they beat South Carolina State 38-0, the way any respectable FBC program should in a season opener.
It was their first chance to show how they will be operating differently. The numbers on the scoreboard are favourable but the execution was not exactly flawless.
Looking at the numbers shows that quarterback Justin Holman completed only 50% of his passes and the running game averaged less than 4ypc.
This offense needs to be more efficient to have a chance against teams with some semblance of talent.
They ran the ball 55 times and need to do so more effectively this week against Michigan, one of the best defense in the nation, to keep this one respectable.
Everything went the way it was supposed in the Michigan opener vs. Hawaii – a 63-3 win. There was a lot of discussion over who would start the game at quarterback.
Wilton Speight got the nod and was solid – John O’Korn is apparently third string.
The running game absolutely dominated as they averaged near 8ypc, as they should against an inferior opponent. Things are not going to be that much tougher this week.
The defense is supposed to be the strength of the team this season and they looked really good against the Rainbow Warriors.
Hawaii got nothing done against Big Blue D that has lots of NFL calibre players.
Jabrill Peppers was all over the field notching a couple of tackles for losses, including a sack.
He probably has to get some scores at some point if he wants to be a Heisman candidate, a la Charles Woodson.

Free Week 2 NCAA Football Prediction
Michigan proved in week one that they are more than capable of taking on a big spread. This is another one but the imbalance between the two teams is quite obvious. I think they can do it again.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Michigan -35
I think ultimately UCF will get a lot better, and perhaps quickly, but it won’t show in this one.
I am not a big fan of the UM offense against an elite defensive team but UCF is far from that and that super stingy Michigan defense should set up some very easy scores. This will likely be a tougher test than a week ago.
