Tulsa and Michigan State clash Friday night under the lights to open the season up.
Michigan State opens the season at number 20 in the country and they take on a Tulsa team that looks to rebound after an awful 2018.
Tulsa Golden Hurricane
Tulsa still has some drama here as they get set to open the season.
[dfads params=’groups=220&limit=1&return_javascript=1′]
The Golden Hurricane are yet to name a starting QB as they are working with both sophomore Seth Boomer and Baylor transfer Zach Smith. Boomer finished last year with 1378 yards through the air while throwing for 9 touchdowns.
Both are expected to see action here against Michigan State as they try to figure out what is best for the future moving forward. While that strategy isn’t necessarily the best one against this defense, they will look to loosen things up with their pair of returning running backs.
Tulsa sees both Corey Taylor II and Shamari Brooks carry the load in the backfield as they offer quite the threat.

Look for Tulsa to get the run game established early and open up some lanes for the pair of QBs through the air.
Michigan State Spartans
Michigan State also had a 2018 to forget.
The Spartans finished just 7-6 after opening up with high hopes of competing for a Big Ten Championship.
Now, they sit at number 20 to start the season and return a healthy QB in senior Brian Lewerke. Last season, Lewerke threw for 2040 yards and 8 touchdowns while battling through injuries. The key to the success of the Spartans offense certainly runs through him and he’ll need to get his feet underneath him early on in this one.
Michigan State’s offense has to come out firing this season as they struggled all year in 2018.
They were one of the worst in the conference and even in the nation in some categories. They managed to muster just 32 points over their last 4 games combined and the playcalling was constantly questioned.
Look for them to really put an emphasis on opening the playbook up here and trying to get more looks deeper down field.
