Green Wave vs. Black Knights Gameday
The Tulane Green Wave visit Army at Michie Stadium in West Point on Saturday, October 10, 2026. Kickoff is noon ET on CBS Sports Network for this Week 6 American Conference matchup.
Both teams enter at 2-2. Tulane is 0-2 on the road under first-year coach Will Hall, while Army looks to rebound under Jeff Monken.
The Green Wave enjoyed a bye last weekend, providing extra preparation time for Army’s option offense. Whether that translates into better tackling is another question.
Tulane brings extra preparation time, while Army wants to make its home field an advantage.
Tulane won the most recent meeting 24-17 in October 2025. Army captured the 2024 American Conference Championship 35-14 in New Orleans.
This is Tulane’s conference opener, while Army is 1-1 in league play. Neither team can afford to fall further behind.
It’s Week 6, Tulane Green Wave vs. Army Black Knights, hopefully we get a great matchup.

Tulane Green Wave vs. Army Black Knights Odds & Last 5
Army is a 3-point favorite at -162 on the moneyline, with Tulane getting +3 and +135. The featured total is 48.5.
Tulane defeated Southern Miss 24-21 after trailing late. The Green Wave also beat South Alabama 28-24 earlier in September.
Army lost 31-29 at Louisiana Tech last Saturday, struggling to produce defensive stops. The Black Knights also demolished Bryant 59-3.
Army is 3-1 to the Over this season, although beating up on Bryant doesn’t make every Saturday a track meet.
Totals around 48.5 are available at major sportsbooks. Compare prices carefully because a single point can make the difference on a college football total.

Black Knights Stats
Army has scored 133 points through four games, producing more than 1,300 rushing yards and fewer than 400 passing yards. Nobody at West Point is losing sleep over an unbalanced playbook.
Samari Howard has rushed for 293 yards and one TD. Brady Anderson leads the receivers with 102 yards.
Army’s precise ball handling and option execution turn modest gains into lengthy possessions. It isn’t flashy, but watching the clock disappear while your offense sits isn’t much fun either.
Defensively, Army has allowed 79 points with three sacks, no interceptions and no fumble recoveries. Monken needs cleaner tackling against Tulane’s speed. One missed assignment can turn an ordinary play into a major gain.
Green Wave Stats
Tulane has scored 75 points through four games, producing 745 passing yards and 657 rushing yards. Consistent offense remains elusive, although the backfield offers explosive potential.
Maurice Turner leads with 277 rushing yards and two TD’s. Jaylin Lucas provides another dangerous option in space. Destyn Hill leads the receivers with 169 yards and one TD. Finishing drives remains a concern.
Tulane’s explosive backs give the Green Wave a way to score without relying on long possessions.
Defensively, Tulane has allowed 93 points with five sacks, one fumble recovery and no interceptions. The lack of picks matters less against an opponent that rarely throws.
Hall’s defense must stay disciplined against Army’s option. Chase the wrong ball carrier, and the Black Knights will gladly make you pay.
Tulane needs negative plays on early downs. Army becomes considerably less comfortable in obvious passing situations.

Green Wave vs. Black Knights QB Matchup
Army starts Cale Hellums, who has thrown for 337 yards, three TD’s and one interception. His passing numbers are modest because his legs do considerably more damage.
Hellums has rushed for 301 yards and six TD’s. His option reads frequently determine whether defenders stay disciplined or chase the wrong runner. Against Louisiana Tech, Hellums completed 12 of 24 passes for 151 yards, one TD and one interception. He also scored on the ground.
Tulane counters with Kadin Semonza, who has completed 50 of 93 passes for 646 yards, three TD’s and one interception. His accuracy remains inconsistent. Semonza threw for 129 yards and one TD against Southern Miss. Tulane relied heavily on its running game.
Backup Zeon Chriss-Gremillion has completed six of nine passes for 64 yards.

“ Anybody can post a prediction. CappersPicks backs up its sports picks with opinionated matchup analysis, experienced handicappers & documented betting performance. Pad that bankroll one day at a time! ”
Hellums presents the greater rushing threat, while Semonza offers a conventional passing approach. Their contrasting styles demand different defensive assignments.
Army needs clean option reads against a rested defense. Semonza must avoid inaccurate early-down throws that create difficult third downs.
Neither QB can afford careless turnovers.
Tulane Green Wave vs. Army Black Knights bottom line: Army’s option execution tests Tulane’s discipline, while the Green Wave need Semonza and their explosive backs to capitalize on scoring opportunities.
Tulane Green Wave vs. Army Black Knights Football Betting Trends

- The Black Knights have gone 3-0 against the spread in games with totals of 50 or more in their last 3 games.

Green Wave Black Knights Free Pick: Over 48.5
Here is my Green Wave Black Knights free pick: Over 48.5. I like the scoring opportunities in this matchup, particularly with Army’s defense allowing opponents to stay competitive and Tulane coming off a week to prepare. We don’t need a shootout from the opening whistle, but we do need both offenses finishing drives.
Army has played three Overs in four games, and the Black Knights have shown they can score without relying on a conventional passing attack. Tulane’s explosive backfield gives the visitors a chance to answer without spending half a quarter moving the chains.
I’m betting enough of these possessions finish in the end zone to overcome Army’s clock-draining style.
The concern is obvious: a couple of eight-minute drives ending in field goals would make 48.5 feel awfully expensive. But I see enough opportunities for chunk plays, red-zone scoring and a competitive fourth quarter to get us past the number.
I’ll take Over 48.5. I aim to make my CFB betting system happy!
