Texas A&M is the best .500 team in all of college football. That is probably true and if it is they should have no problem winning this one. We will see.
Ole Miss still has some talent but this program never quite reached the mountain top, even when they had Alabama’s number it seemed. Then a lot happened.
I was not as high on the Aggies as some but there is no doubt they are a talented group. They should be able to win and cover on the road.
Texas A&M Aggies
Last week the Aggies got beat up by Alabama. Nobody expected them to win but losing at home by 20 points can definitely influence you for the next game, especially on the road.
This was supposed to be the season for Kellen Mond to really emerge at quarterback but I am not sure he is any better than he was a year ago. I don’t see much improvement.
The Aggies are also not very balanced offensively. I know that everyone is more pass happy these days but when you see the good teams do battle being able to run makes a difference.
Up until the Alabama game the defense was a strength for Texas A&M. You can’t really use that much in terms of determining anything. They held Clemson to just 24 points earlier in the year, which was impressive.
The jury is out on Texas A&M for me. I am not of the opinion that they are close to the elites. Maybe on their way but not there yet.
Ole Miss Rebels
The Rebels are not much of a threat in the SEC right now. The best they can probably claim is that they are better than Arkansas and Vanderbilt, two teams they have already beaten.
Last year the Rebels had one of the best passing attacks in the country but this year they are more ground bound. Losing your top receivers to the NFL and QB to graduation will do that.
Ole Miss is not a great defensive team and they are especially bad against the pass – 122nd. That might make it pretty obvious in how to attack them.
When the Rebels have the ball they may try and eat clock with a ground game that is 20th in the nation but I don’t think that will be enough to stymie Texas A&M to pull the upset.

Free Week 8 NCAA Football Pick
If A&M is closing in on the elite than this should be an easy win and cover. In fact whether I bet it or not I am curious about this one and what it might mean in betting the Aggies from here on out.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Texas A&M -6.5
Fading a team after they get beat up by Alabama is a sound strategy but the follow up opponent still has to be good enough. I am not keen on backing the Rebels.
Ole Miss might be able to hang with the Aggies for a little while but I think the difference in depth shows in the second half. Texas A&M pulls away.
