Alabama looks fairly reloaded for another shot at the SEC and a Nationals Championship.
Texas A&M did not show a lot in their season-opening game against Vanderbilt.
Aggies fans might want to think they are closing the gap on the elite in the SEC but there is not much evidence of that.
Texas A&M Aggies
When you start the season against Vanderbilt you are supposed to do better than winning 17-12 at home. Still a win is better than a loss obviously.
The defense was sound but Kellen Mond is now a senior starting quarterback and need to get more from the offense.
The running game was very effective with 183 yards but you have to remember the opponent. Few teams run like that against Alabama.
Texas A&M had two interceptions against Vandy. That is good. Not so good were the five fumbles they had, losing three of them. If they are careless with the ball again this week they will get smoked.
In the Manziel era the Aggies frequently put a scare in Alabama but this group does not look like it is going to be doing that.
Alabama Crimson Tide
Alabama won easily last week against Mizzou. It was a classic case of the final being more flattering to the loser. They were up 35-3 but then took their foot off the gas.
It was hard to find much fault with Mac Jones at QB. He completed a high percentage and threw a couple of TD passes. They were even able to get Bryce Young into the game and he looked good too.
Najee Harris did not reach 100 yards but found the endzone three times. It appears the offense is going to be just fine post-Tua.
Ditto for the defense. Since it was not close there was no need for intensity throughout the whole game. This was a great spot to see what they really had.

Free Week 4 NCAA Football Pick
They are trying to throw you with the hook here. I am not sure if will matter though. I can see an Alabama rout or a close game, nota game where that half-point is going to kill you.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Alabama -17.5
Though the Aggies defense may prove to be reasonably good this is not a game I expect them to show it. Alabama can beat you so many ways. They can wear you down too.
If I am Texas A&M I would be worried about that offense. Scoring just 17 points at home against pretty much anyone is a red flag. On the road, they probably don’t get much more here.
