Volunteers vs. Razorbacks Gameday
The No. 15 Tennessee Volunteers visit the Arkansas Razorbacks at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium on Saturday, October 10, 2026. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:15 PM ET on SEC Network.
Tennessee enters 4-1 under Josh Heupel and ranks 14th in the Coaches Poll.
The Vols are 1-1 in SEC play and preparing for their first conference road game. Arkansas is 2-3 under first-year coach Ryan Silverfield. The Razorbacks are still chasing their first SEC victory.
Tennessee brings the stronger record, but Fayetteville has repeatedly turned into an expensive lesson for the Volunteers.
Arkansas has won four consecutive home meetings against Tennessee. Its latest Fayetteville victory came in 2024, when the Razorbacks stunned the fourth-ranked Vols 19-14.
Tennessee leads the all-time series 14-7.
The Volunteers won last season’s meeting 34-31 in Knoxville, ending Arkansas’ four-game winning streak in the series. Apparently, neither program believes in making this rivalry straightforward. Tennessee would prefer a considerably less dramatic visit this time.
It’s Week 6, Tennessee Volunteers vs. Arkansas Razorbacks, hopefully we get a great matchup.

Tennessee Volunteers vs. Arkansas Razorbacks Odds & Last 5
Tennessee opened as a 13.5-point road favorite at -555 on the moneyline, while Arkansas was priced at +413. That’s a substantial number for a conference road game.
The Volunteers defeated Auburn 24-14 last Saturday.
Tennessee previously lost 20-17 to top-ranked Texas after opening with victories over Furman, Georgia Tech and Kennesaw State. The schedule has become considerably less forgiving since September ended.
Arkansas fell 34-7 at Texas A&M following losses to Georgia and Utah. Its victories came against North Alabama and Tulsa. The Razorbacks haven’t found many reasons to celebrate lately.
Tennessee has won three consecutive road games dating back to last season.
That recent success offers some encouragement entering a difficult venue. Arkansas, however, has enough history in this matchup to believe another upset is possible. History doesn’t tackle anybody, but it can certainly make a favorite uncomfortable.

Razorbacks Stats
Arkansas has scored 99 points through five games, generating 1,214 passing yards and 465 rushing yards. Establishing a dependable ground attack has been difficult.
Braylen Russell has contributed 136 rushing yards and one TD.
Chris Marshall leads the receivers with 35 catches for 549 yards and two TD’s. He’s one of the SEC’s most productive pass catchers. Unfortunately for Arkansas, one dangerous receiver doesn’t automatically fix an entire offense.
Arkansas has a legitimate receiving threat, but its limited ground production makes offensive balance difficult.
Defensively, the Razorbacks have allowed 142 points while recording eight sacks. Consistent pressure has been hard to manufacture.
Linebacker Ben Bogle leads Arkansas with 35 tackles.
He recorded 16 against Texas A&M, an impressive individual effort during an otherwise miserable afternoon. The Razorbacks need better tackling throughout the lineup. One defender can’t be expected to clean up everybody else’s mistakes.
Volunteers Stats
Tennessee has rushed for 1,214 yards through five games, ranking among the nation’s leading ground attacks. DeSean Bishop leads the backfield with 540 yards and seven TD’s.
Bishop delivered 220 rushing yards and three TD’s against Auburn.
Mike Matthews leads the receiving group with 318 yards. His speed gives Tennessee another option when opponents crowd the line. Defenses can’t spend the entire afternoon worrying about Bishop.
The Volunteers have allowed 76 points while producing 23 sacks. That pressure has helped disrupt opposing offenses before plays can develop.
Defensive tackle Xavier Gilliam and defensive end Mariyon Dye have four sacks apiece.
Tennessee has also collected five interceptions and three fumble recoveries. Running back Javin Gordon has been listed as questionable, while defensive lineman Kedric Golston II is out. The Vols have depth, but the availability report still deserves attention.
Volunteers vs. Razorbacks QB Matchup
Arkansas starts KJ Jackson, who has thrown for 1,038 yards, six TD’s and four interceptions. His arm gives the Razorbacks a legitimate downfield threat.
Jackson has attempted 157 passes through five games.
He also contributes as a runner, with 85 rushing yards and two TD’s. Arkansas needs him making good decisions when protection breaks down. Forcing throws against Tennessee’s pass rush would be asking for trouble.
AJ Hill provides depth behind Jackson, having thrown for 181 yards and one TD without an interception.
Tennessee is expected to start George MacIntyre, who replaced Faizon Brandon during the Auburn victory. MacIntyre completed eight of 10 passes for 86 yards in relief. His first career start would come in an SEC road environment.
CP Is More Than Just Sports Picks!
“ Anybody can post a prediction. CappersPicks backs up its sports picks with opinionated matchup analysis, experienced handicappers & documented betting performance. Pad that bankroll one day at a time! ”
MacIntyre has completed 14 of 20 passes for 148 yards and one TD this season.
Brandon has been listed as questionable with a shoulder injury suffered against Texas. He started Tennessee’s first five games before being replaced against Auburn.
Brandon has thrown for 697 yards, seven TD’s and one interception. His availability gives Heupel another decision to make. MacIntyre remains the expected starter, but Brandon’s status could affect the QB rotation.
Jackson faces a difficult assignment against Tennessee’s aggressive defensive front. MacIntyre must handle the crowd, communicate protections and avoid turning manageable situations into emergencies.
Tennessee Volunteers vs. Arkansas Razorbacks bottom line: Tennessee’s productive ground attack and disruptive defense present serious challenges for an Arkansas team relying heavily on its passing game.
Tennessee Volunteers vs. Arkansas Razorbacks Football Betting Trends
- The Volunteers are strong as favorites, winning 26 of their last 30 games in that role.
- Also, Tennessee has a perfect record in their last three away games, winning each one.
- After a win, the Volunteers have a 20-10 straight-up record in their last 30 games.
- Additionally, Arkansas has struggled as underdogs, with a 15-12 record against the spread in their last 27 games.
- At home, the Razorbacks have hit the over in 17 of their last 26 games.
- After a loss, Arkansas has a 17-11 record hitting the over in their last 28 games.
Volunteers Razorbacks Free Pick: Tennessee -13.5
Here is my Volunteers Razorbacks free pick: Tennessee -13.5. Laying nearly two TD’s on the road with a new QB isn’t exactly a stress-free Saturday investment. Fortunately, I don’t need George MacIntyre auditioning for the Heisman Trophy to cash this ticket.
My preferred script is Tennessee establishing an early lead and forcing Arkansas to chase points. That changes the decisions facing Ryan Silverfield, especially when the Razorbacks start running out of opportunities to play patiently.
Arkansas can make this uncomfortable with a few explosive completions.
But I don’t want Tennessee trading scores all afternoon. I want the Vols making Arkansas earn every possession while building enough separation to survive an occasional defensive mistake. There’s a difference between controlling a game and merely leading it.
I’m laying the points because Tennessee has a credible path to a two-touchdown margin without needing a perfect performance from its new QB.
The look-ahead to Alabama is worth considering. Coaches love telling everyone they’re focused on the next game, which is generally what coaches say before somebody gets caught looking ahead.
Still, Arkansas hasn’t shown enough consistency for me to trust it to stay within this number. My college football betting system favors favorites that can dictate the terms of a matchup rather than spend four quarters reacting to the opponent. I’ll take Tennessee to establish control and protect the margin. Give me Tennessee -13.5.
