Tigers vs. Bulldogs QB Matchup
Gunner Stockton returns as the Georgia Bulldogs quarterback after an excellent 2025 season. He started all 14 games and threw for 2,894 yards. Stockton finished with 24 passing touchdowns against only five interceptions.

The quarterback matchup heavily favors Georgia in experience at this level. Stockton returns after leading the Bulldogs to an SEC Championship, while Lee already has a full 2026 game under his belt. Both quarterbacks bring dual-threat ability into Saturday’s matchup.
Tennessee State Tigers vs. Georgia Bulldogs bottom line: Tennessee State showed some fight in its narrow Week 0 loss, but #3 Georgia opens its season at home with an experienced roster coming off a 12-2 season and SEC Championship.

Tigers Bulldogs Free Pick: Georgia -45.5
Here is my Tigers Bulldogs free pick: Georgia opens its season at home against a Tennessee State team that already has a game under its belt.
The number is enormous, but I’m laying it with the Bulldogs.
Georgia went 12-2 last season, won the SEC, and averaged 32.1 points per game while producing 402.4 yards per contest. The Bulldogs also finished 6-1 at Sanford Stadium.
Tennessee State went 2-10 in 2025 and averaged only 12.9 points with 251.1 yards per game. The Tigers already opened 2026 with a loss, so this is hardly an easy turnaround. Rough assignment.
Georgia’s massive talent advantage should create enough short fields and scoring chances to make this spread reachable.
Additionally, Tennessee State converted only 28% of its third downs last season, while Georgia converted 44%. That matters when the underdog needs sustained drives just to keep Georgia’s offense standing on the sideline.
Can Tennessee State score enough to stay within this number? I don’t think so.
Laying more than 6 touchdowns is never comfortable, and that’s the obvious danger here. Georgia doesn’t need a masterpiece; it needs to keep scoring while preventing cheap points.
My college football play on Saturday lands on UG, and I’ll lay the big number with the Dogs at -46.5.
