This matchup will see the Temple Owls travel to Tampa to take on the South Florida Bulls. This game will be played on Thursday night. Both teams play in the American Athletic and are both still fighting for that all-important sixth win.

Temple Owls
The Owls got absolutely crushed last week, losing to Central Florida 63-21. This was at home too where they usually play pretty well. Regardless, they are now 2-2 in the American Athletic and have virtually no chance to play in the title game. They can still make a bowl game and would clinch with a win.
The Temple offense has been lacking this season. They have scored 21 points in each of their last two games and have only scored more than 30 points once this season. In conference games, they are averaging 24.8 points per game, but that just has not been good enough.
If there is any positive to take away from this offense, it is their passing game. They average 263.8 yards per game through the air, ranking 38th in the country.

A couple of weeks ago, I would have praised this defense, but over the past two weeks, they have been torched for a combined 108 points. They are now allowing 38.3 points per game to their American Athletic opponents.
South Florida Bulls
The Bulls got just their second conference win of the year when they beat East Carolina by a score 35-20. They have an extremely tough schedule coming up, so they basically must win this game if they are going to have a legit shot at making a bowl game.
They have had a ton of trouble on the offensive side of the football, only scoring an average of 26.1 points per game. They have improved slightly in conference games, scoring an average of 29.3 points per game.

Their defense however, is allowing 28.4 points per game. They have played worse in their American Athletic games, allowing an average of 31.3 points per game.
South Florida’s quarterback, Jordan McCloud, is listed as probable for this game with an ankle injury, so assuming he is not 100%, the Bulls are going to look to run the ball.
They are better at running the ball regardless, averaging 180.8 yards per game. This is ranked 53rd in the country compared to their passing game which ranks 110th.
They do defend the pass very well, allowing just 185.6 passing yards per game. This ranks 17th in the country. As mentioned before, the strength of the Temple offense is throwing the ball, so the Bulls must slow down their quarterback if they are going to hang around.
