Stanford never seems to capture the imagination of the nation but with the country’s most productive player and a win over USC already to their credit they are looking like the PAC12’s best chance to crash the playoffs this season.
This is a crucial stretch with another road game at Washington up next. They have a killer schedule this season.

UCLA began the season with a road loss against Texas A&M. The following two weeks have yielded two victories but they have yet to cover a game this season so they are clearly not as good as advertised.
Last week they narrowly won at BYU is a physical contest. The question is whether they might be beat up or that much more ready for Stanford.
Stanford Cardinal
The Cardinal are among the strongest programs in the nation.
There was some concern about the QB situation heading into the season but with Christian McCaffery and a strong defense there is little to be concerned about really.
McCaffery is looking to best his record setting performance from a year ago. So far so good with an average of just under 150s yards per game on the ground while leading the team in receptions and receiving yards.
Defenses know what to expect but stopping him is something else.

Senior Ryan Burns is the ultimate in game managers at QB.
He is big enough to take a hit and smart enough not to try and win games on his own.
The real question is whether he will be able to lead the team back should they ever find the need to do so. The defense has only allowed 23 points over the first couple of games.
If they keep up that level of performance they might not ever have to deviate from the game plan.
UCLA Bruins
It is hard to know what to make of UCLA these days. There is talent there but it seems like they fall flat whenever they have a chance to make a real statement. Just think about the way this game would be looked at if they had beat the Aggies in Week 1.
Instead it is the same old Bruins, pretty good but worth giving a second thought to. Can they break through like Clemson.
You would think a once in a generation quarterback like Josh Rosen would help.

No one player wins or loses a game in my opinion but Rosen may have sunk the Bruins against the Aggies with his three picks.
Since then he has put up some yards but he is far from Heisman talk and would need a big victory here to get the nation’s attention.
UCLA has found its running back for the future in Soso Jamabo – what a name.
They missed him last week due to disciplinary reasons but he will be back for this one, which is likely to be a grinder.

Free Week 4 NCAA Football Prediction
The line says that this is going to be a close game and there might not be a better team to take under those circumstance than Stanford right? It seems like they are built for it.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Stanford -3
The Cardinal are also built to win on the road.
Their quarterback play might not be exciting but until he holds them back I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. McCaffrey rushed for almost 250 yards against UCLA last year while Rosen threw two picks.
I am not sure all that much is going to change this time around.
