Gamecocks vs. Gators Gameday
The South Carolina Gamecocks visit No. 16 Florida at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville on Saturday, October 10, 2026. Kickoff is 12:45 PM ET on SEC Network for this Week 6 conference matchup.
South Carolina enters at 2-3 under Shane Beamer, including an 0-3 SEC record. The Gamecocks have lost three straight and are still searching for their first road victory.
Florida is 4-1 under Jon Sumrall, with a 2-1 conference mark. The Gators are 3-0 at home and return to The Swamp for Homecoming after a difficult road trip. The crowd should be lively, although it can’t make a tackle for them.
Florida returns home needing a response, while South Carolina desperately wants to end its conference slide.
The Gators have won four of the last five meetings, including a 41-39 victory in Columbia in 2023. Florida also leads the all-time series.
Both teams have something to prove. Florida wants to remain in the SEC race, while South Carolina needs a result that changes the direction of its season.
It’s Week 6, South Carolina Gamecocks vs. Florida Gators, hopefully we get a great matchup.

South Carolina Gamecocks vs. Florida Gators Odds & Last 5
Florida opened as a 13.5-point favorite at -530 on the moneyline, with South Carolina getting +13.5 and +396. The featured total is 61.5 points.
South Carolina lost 35-34 in overtime to Kentucky after surrendering a 17-point lead. The Gamecocks previously fell 49-18 at Alabama, making their conference schedule a rather unpleasant introduction to October.
Florida suffered a 45-17 defeat at Missouri last Saturday. The Gators had previously beaten Ole Miss 52-28, showing how quickly their offensive fortunes can change.
The spread makes Florida a substantial favorite, but the total demands considerable scoring. The Gators have gone Over in four of five games, and South Carolina has done the same.
Bettors comparing prices at their preferred sportsbooks should watch the total carefully. At 61.5, settling for field goals gets expensive in a hurry. Nobody enjoys sweating a missed extra point with two minutes remaining.

Gators Stats
Florida has scored 231 points through five games, averaging more than 46 per contest. Its rushing attack has produced 1,082 yards, providing an important foundation for the offense.
Jadan Baugh leads the backfield with 613 rushing yards and 11 TD’s. His combination of power and acceleration makes him dangerous once he reaches the second level.
Dallas Wilson leads the receivers with 302 yards, giving Florida another option when opponents concentrate on stopping Baugh.
Defensively, the Gators have allowed 136 points while collecting four interceptions and four fumble recoveries. The takeaway production helps, but surrendering more than 27 points per game isn’t exactly a championship formula.
Missouri held Baugh to 13 rushing yards in the latest defeat. Florida’s offensive line must respond after struggling to establish running lanes against the Tigers.
Receiver Vernell Brown III and running back London Montgomery were questionable on the SEC availability report. Safety Bryce Thornton and cornerback Dijon Johnson were listed as probable.
Gamecocks Stats
South Carolina has scored 188 points through five games, including 1,280 rushing yards. The Gamecocks have generated plenty of offense, but converting production into victories has been another matter.
Matt Fuller leads the running backs with 433 yards and five TD’s. Mazeo Bennett Jr. has contributed 201 receiving yards and one TD, although his availability is uncertain.
The defense has surrendered 134 points while recording 13 sacks and two interceptions. South Carolina has struggled to produce consistent stops despite occasional pressure in the backfield.
South Carolina can generate offense, but its defense has struggled to protect leads against conference opponents.
Offensive tackle Josiah Thompson, defensive back Jalewis Solomon, receiver Jayden Sellers and edge defender Kobby Sakyi-Prah were ruled out. Defensive lineman Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy and edge defender Julian Walker were doubtful, while Bennett and offensive lineman Carter Miller were questionable.
Beamer needs his defense to respond after another frustrating finish. The Gamecocks have enough offensive talent to compete, but asking the offense to rescue every defensive mistake is getting old.
South Carolina must tackle better in space and avoid giving Florida short fields. Otherwise, the Gators have enough playmakers to turn modest opportunities into major problems.

Gamecocks vs. Gators QB Matchup
Florida starts Aaron Philo, who has completed 84 of 121 passes for 1,114 yards, eight TD’s and two interceptions. His accuracy has helped the Gators maintain a productive passing attack.
Philo threw for 197 yards against Missouri as Florida struggled to establish offensive rhythm. The sophomore needs to identify pressure more quickly and avoid negative plays that derail promising possessions.
Backup Tramell Jones Jr. has thrown for 212 yards, two TD’s and one interception in limited action.
South Carolina counters with LaNorris Sellers, who has completed 92 of 152 passes for 1,059 yards, eight TD’s and four interceptions. He’s also rushed for 391 yards, giving the Gamecocks a dangerous second dimension.
Sellers threw for 226 yards and two TD’s against Kentucky while adding 147 yards on the ground. His ability to escape pressure creates opportunities that aren’t always available within the original play design.
Backup Cutter Woods has contributed 92 passing yards and one TD in limited appearances.

Philo is the more efficient passer, while Sellers presents the greater scrambling threat. Their contrasting strengths require different defensive approaches.
Florida needs Philo to keep the offense on schedule without forcing throws into coverage. Sellers must recognize when to attack downfield and when taking the available rushing yards is the smarter decision.
Both QB’s can extend possessions, but protecting the football will be essential.
South Carolina Gamecocks vs. Florida Gators bottom line: Philo’s passing efficiency gives Florida an advantage through the air, while Sellers’ mobility challenges the Gators’ defensive discipline.
South Carolina Gamecocks vs. Florida Gators Football Betting Trends
- The Gamecocks have gone 5-0 on the over/under in their last 5 games after a loss.
- Additionally, South Carolina is 9-3 against the spread in their last 12 away games.
- The Gators have a 4-0 straight-up record in their last 4 home games.
- Florida is 17-6 straight-up as a favorite in their last 23 games.
- South Carolina is 14-10 against the spread as an underdog in their last 24 games.
- Plus, Florida has hit the over in 3 straight games with totals of 50 or more points.
Gamecocks Gators Free Pick: Over 61.5
Here is my Gamecocks Gators free pick: Over 61.5. I’m backing a scoring game between two SEC teams that have been considerably better at moving the football than protecting their end zones. Florida should have opportunities to score, but I don’t expect South Carolina to spend the afternoon politely watching.
The Gamecocks have played four Overs in five games, and Florida has matched that mark. More importantly, South Carolina’s offensive production gives the underdog a realistic chance to contribute instead of leaving the Gators responsible for the entire number. That’s where this bet gets interesting.
I’m betting both offenses finish enough drives to make 62 points a reachable target.
The danger is Florida building a comfortable lead and taking its foot off the gas. Still, neither defense has consistently shut down quality opposition, and one short field or late touchdown could make all the difference.
I’m going with the Over 61.5.
