The Boston College Eagles will play host to the Richmond Spiders on Saturday afternoon. Boston College is expected to be a strong team as they have their quarterback (Anthony Brown), and running back (AJ Dillon) back after a 7-5 season.
The same can’t be said for Richmond who went 4-7 last season against shaky competition. However the Spiders did look improved in their week one victory against Jacksonville.
Will the Spiders pull out the big road upset or will the Eagles take care of business at home? Find out below as we preview this matchup.
The Richmond Spiders began their year with a 38-14 win against the Jacksonville Dolphins. Richmond scored the first 21 points of the game and they never looked back. Joe Mancuso went 14/19 for 131 passing yards in the win. Mancuso did most of his damage on the ground with 77 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Aaron Dykes went for 68 yards and a touchdown on just six carries. As a team the Spiders rushed for 320 yards and had four touchdowns.
Isaac Brown (50 receiving yards), and Charlie Fessler (48 receiving yards) did some damage receiving. The Spiders allowed only 281 total yards to the Dolphins in the win. They allowed an impressive 2.8 yards per carry on the ground.
Maurice Jackson had a big game on defense for the Spiders on Thursday. Jackson had a 56-yard fumble return touchdown in the first quarter.
Richmond has won 14 straight home openers.
Boston College Eagles
Boston College kicked off their season with a 35-28 victory against the Virginia Tech Hokies on Saturday. Brown had 275 passing yards and two touchdowns in the victory.
AJ Dillon led the ground attack with 81 rushing yards and a touchdown, and David Bailey had 38 yards and a touchdown out the backfield. Zay Flowers led all receivers with 91 yards and a touchdown, and Kobay White had 73 receiving yards and a touchdown.
The Eagles did a great job in forcing five Hokies turnovers. At times they let Ryan Willis who had 344 passing yards and four touchdowns have some big plays but overall made the stops when needed.
Joseph Sparacio had a big game on defense for the Eagles with a pick and six tackles. Tanner Karafa and Brandon Sebastian also had an interception for the Eagles defense.

Free Week 2 NCAA Football Pick: Boston College by 31
The Eagles are expected to make a lot of noise in the ACC conference. They have a strong ground game and an improving quarterback in Brown. I expect Brown to have a big game against a Spiders defense that will struggle against a stronger team.
