A matchup between two top 15 teams sees the Oregon Ducks taking on the Georgia Bulldogs.
At the time of writing this, Georgia is a 17-point favorite in this one with the total sitting at 53. It had gotten up to 17.5 points at one time, but it is sitting at 17 right now.
The kickoff in this game is set for 3:30 ET from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, a venue that the dawgs are quite familiar playing at.
One interesting point surrounding this game is Dan Lanning will be squaring off against his former boss in his first game as the head coach of the Ducks.
Kirby Smart and his Bulldogs will be looking to start off their title defense in the right direction when they open up against this tricky opponent.
Oregon Ducks
The Ducks come into this game as the number 11 ranked team in America and they sure have a tall task right out of the gate when they face off with one of the best teams in the nation and the defending champs.
With Mario Cristobal now coaching at Miami, it is now Dan Lanning who will be leading this team and he is pretty well regarded in the college football landscape. He was the linebackers coach and defensive coordinator the last three seasons in Athens and he will look to use his knowledge of his former school as an advantage on Saturday.
Even with a lot of change taking place at Oregon, the expectations are relatively high for them this season, but it certainly is going to be challenging for them in 2022. They had a strong season a year ago, but two bad losses to Utah put a negative spin on it.
A lot of coaches throughout the nation have named their starting quarterback, but that has not been the case with Lanning. A good assumption is that it would be Bo Nix, the transfer from Auburn, but we will not truly know until kickoff on Saturday afternoon.
Something that is interesting in this one as it Pertains to Oregon is whether or not Lanning’s knowledge of Georgia will help his team or not. Off the bat, it seems like it might, but we have seen that has not always been the case before.
Georgia Bulldogs
After winning it all a season ago, Georgia once again comes into this season with very high hopes and aspirations of being the champs.
Coming into this one, the Bulldogs are ranked at #3 which seems just about right when you look at how loaded Alabama and Ohio State are at the moment.
It has been well noted how much talent on the defensive side of the ball the Dawgs lost to the NFL draft, but that does not seem to be concerning the program or their fans. A common idea that I have been hearing is they are reloading not rebuilding and they will be just fine.
Stetson Bennett is back as the quarterback for this group and one of his favorite targets will likely be tight end Brock Bowers who was outstanding a season ago and was named the SEC Freshman of the Year.
A season ago, Kirby Smart’s bunch opened up the season with a tough customer in Clemson and beat them 10-3 and they will once again look to take down a formidable opponent when they face off with Oregon.

4* Oregon vs. Georgia NCAA Betting Final Analysis:
I know that this game is getting a ton of hype and deservingly so given the two teams and some of the storylines that are surrounding them, but I just do not see this being all that close in the end.
To me, it is pretty clear that the Bulldogs are the much better team on both sides of the field and I just feel they will be too much for an Oregon team to handle.
Look, Lanning maybe knowing what to expect from Georgia might help a bit, but it only truly matters if he has a team that is talented enough to matchup with its opponent and I just do not see that happening here.
I am not incredibly bullish on the defense for the Ducks this season and I really do not love their chances when they face off with this talented offensive unit that brings back some key players.
It is very likely that the defense for the Dawgs is not as dominant as it was a year ago, but they are still very talented and they are more than capable of keeping this offense in check.
Although it is a high number to lay, I like Georgia as a big favorite here in the season opener.
