Rebels vs. Commodores Gameday
The No. 9 Ole Miss Rebels visit the Vanderbilt Commodores at FirstBank Stadium in Nashville on Saturday, October 10, 2026. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 PM ET on ESPN in this Week 6 SEC matchup.
Ole Miss enters 3-1 overall and 1-1 in conference play under Pete Golding. The Rebels are coming off their bye week, looking to rebound from their first defeat.
Vanderbilt is 3-2 under Clark Lea, with an 0-2 SEC record. The Commodores have won all three home games this season and carry a ten-game home winning streak into Saturday. Nashville has been friendly territory, although the visiting competition isn’t getting any easier.
Ole Miss brings a top-ten ranking to Nashville, where Vanderbilt is protecting an impressive home winning streak.
The Rebels won the most recent meeting 33-7 in Oxford in 2023. Ole Miss has captured four straight in the series, which dates back to 1894.
Both teams need a conference response. Ole Miss wants to remain in the SEC race, while Vanderbilt is still searching for its first league victory.
It’s Week 6, Ole Miss Rebels vs. Vanderbilt Commodores, hopefully we get a great matchup.

Ole Miss Rebels vs. Vanderbilt Commodores Odds & Last 5
Ole Miss is favored by 9.5 points at -366 on the moneyline, with Vanderbilt getting +9.5 and +287. The featured total is 59 points.
The Rebels lost 52-28 at Florida after beating LSU 32-24. Earlier victories over Charlotte and Louisville helped establish their strong start before the difficult trip to Gainesville.
Vanderbilt fell 38-14 at Georgia after losing 21-15 at Auburn. The Commodores previously escaped North Carolina State 35-31 at home, recovering a fumble in the end zone in the closing seconds.
Both teams have shown offensive potential, although their recent conference performances tell different stories. Ole Miss has been the more explosive team, while Vanderbilt has struggled to finish possessions against SEC defenses.
The spread asks the Rebels to win by double digits. Compare the latest prices at your preferred sportsbooks before making a play. A half-point can be the difference between a winning ticket and a very unpleasant Saturday evening.

Commodores Stats
Vanderbilt has scored 127 points through five games, averaging more than 25 per contest. The Commodores have generated 1,132 passing yards, but their rushing attack has lacked consistency.
Sedrick Alexander leads the backfield with 200 rushing yards and four TD’s. Makhilyn Young has contributed 134 yards and one score, giving Lea another option when the ground game finds room.
Junior Sherrill leads the receivers with 474 yards. He collected seven receptions for 107 yards and a TD against Georgia, providing one of Vanderbilt’s brighter moments in an otherwise difficult afternoon.
Defensively, Vanderbilt has allowed 125 points while recording 14 sacks, four interceptions and two fumble recoveries. The pass rush has created occasional problems for opponents, but the Commodores haven’t consistently limited scoring opportunities.
Discipline remains another concern. Vanderbilt averages nine penalties per game, placing it among the nation’s most penalized teams. That’s a lot of free yardage to donate against an SEC opponent.
Rebels Stats
Ole Miss has scored 142 points through four games, averaging more than 35 per contest. The Rebels lead the SEC with 1,290 passing yards, although their rushing attack has produced only 470 yards.
Kewan Lacy has rushed for 191 yards and four TD’s despite missing the Florida game with a shoulder injury. He’s questionable for Saturday, although Golding expects him to return in a limited rotation. JT Lindsey and Makhi Frazier provide additional backfield options.
Deuce Alexander leads the receivers with 429 yards, averaging nearly 16 yards per catch. His ability to stretch the field gives Ole Miss a dangerous option when opponents crowd the line of scrimmage.
Ole Miss can attack through the air, but its defense needs to stop turning ordinary drives into scoring opportunities.
The Rebels have allowed 123 points and 1,619 total yards. Their defense has struggled against the run, surrendering 779 rushing yards through four games.
Linebacker Keaton Thomas leads the team with 29 tackles. Golding needs better tackling and more consistent pressure from a unit that has surrendered too many explosive plays. The offense can’t keep paying every defensive bill.
Ole Miss must establish enough rushing production to keep Vanderbilt from concentrating entirely on its passing attack. A healthier backfield would make that assignment considerably easier.

Rebels vs. Commodores QB Matchup
Vanderbilt hopes to have Jared Curtis back after he missed the Georgia game with a knee injury. The freshman is listed as probable, but his return to the starting lineup remains dependent on his availability.
Curtis has thrown for 746 yards, four TD’s and three interceptions in four appearances. His mobility also gives Vanderbilt another option near the goal line.
Blaze Berlowitz started against Georgia and has thrown for 368 yards and one TD this season. He remains the alternative if Curtis cannot play.
Ole Miss counters with Trinidad Chambliss, who has completed 102 of 144 passes for 1,222 yards, eight TD’s and three interceptions. His accuracy and ability to avoid sacks have been central to the Rebels’ passing success.
Chambliss has shown he can attack different areas of the field, particularly when Alexander gets favorable coverage. Vanderbilt must disrupt his timing rather than allowing him to settle into comfortable throwing windows.
Deuce Knight has thrown for 68 yards in limited action behind Chambliss.
CP Is More Than Just Sports Picks!
“ Anybody can post a prediction. CappersPicks backs up its sports picks with opinionated matchup analysis, experienced handicappers & documented betting performance. Pad that bankroll one day at a time! ”
Chambliss gives Ole Miss the more established passing attack, while Vanderbilt’s QB situation introduces uncertainty. Curtis offers a different running threat than Berlowitz, forcing the Rebels to prepare for both possibilities.
Vanderbilt needs to protect its QB against pressure and avoid predictable third downs. Ole Miss must stay disciplined against designed runs and scrambling opportunities.
The Rebels have the advantage in proven passing production, but both defenses have work to do.
Ole Miss Rebels vs. Vanderbilt Commodores bottom line: Ole Miss has the stronger passing attack, while Vanderbilt needs disciplined execution to protect its Nashville home streak.
Ole Miss Rebels vs. Vanderbilt Commodores Football Betting Trends
- The Rebels are 27-3 straight up in their last 30 games as favorites.
- Plus, Ole Miss is 4-1 on the over in their last 5 away games.
- Vanderbilt is 14-3 against the spread in their last 17 games as underdogs.
- The Commodores are 10-1 against the spread after a loss in their last 11 games.
- Also, Vanderbilt has gone over the total in 7 of their last 9 games.
- Ole Miss is 7-0 straight up after a loss in their last 7 games.
Rebels Commodores Free Pick: Rebels -9.5
Here is my Rebels Commodores free pick: Ole Miss Rebels -9.5. Vanderbilt has made Nashville a difficult place to visit, but I’m backing the Rebels to respond after their first loss. Pete Golding had an extra week to clean up the mess, and I expect a considerably sharper effort.
Ole Miss has won seven straight following a defeat, and Vanderbilt’s lack of discipline makes this a dangerous matchup for the home team. The Commodores can’t afford to extend possessions with penalties or hand a top-ten opponent favorable field position. That’s how a manageable deficit becomes a two-touchdown problem.
I’m betting Ole Miss takes control after halftime and forces Vanderbilt to chase a game it would rather slow down.
Vanderbilt’s home success deserves respect, but the Rebels have the personnel to capitalize when the Commodores get behind schedule. I see Ole Miss creating enough separation to clear the number without needing a perfect afternoon.
Give me Ole Miss Rebels -9.5.
