LSU are starting to hit their stride under their new coach and are separating themselves as a team to beat in the SEC. While Ole Miss had a promising start, they were quickly put in their place by Alabama a few weeks ago.

In last years’ meeting, LSU handled Ole Miss, easily beating them by a score of 40-24. Ole Miss has not won on the road against LSU since 2008, so this will be a very tough game for them.
Ole Miss Rebels
The Rebels started off the season 2-0 and averaging 61.5 points per game.
They went into the Alabama feeling like they could hang with the Tide. The first play against Alabama even resulted in a 75 yard touchdown for the Rebels, which had Oxford. After that one play, Alabama quickly dominated the rest of the game and scored 62 unanswered points.
The Rebels have recently been known for their wide receiver talent. This year their star receiver has been D.K. Metcalf and A.J Brown. Brown leads the team in receiving yards with 381, while Metcalf has 368.
Metcalf leads the team in receiving touchdowns with four, while Brown has three. This two-headed receiving core should be a nightmare, the question is whether or not quarterback, Jordan Ta’amu will have enough time in the pocket to throw to them.

The Rebels defense has been the main issue for them this season. Even when they played Southern Illinois and scored 76, they still allowed 41 points. Of course they also were torched by Alabama, which was kind of expected.
If the Rebels do not change something on the defensive side of the ball, there is not many games left that they will win
LSU Tigers
LSU started the season #25 in the country and faced off with a top ten Miami team. After destroying Miami, they started to get some press and people starting talking whether or not this team was legit.
Then they went into Auburn and beat the Tigers in a stunning upset to vault into the top ten. Now they have the Rebels, who can score a lot of points, so if the Tigers want to prove they are a title contender they need a convincing win over Ole Miss.
The Tigers have two rushers over 200 yards this season, which has helped lead them to a unbeaten start. Nick Brossette has 409 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns, while Clyde Edwards-Helaire has 208 yards and 4 touchdowns. These two should be able to carve up the Rebel defense and help their team to an easy win.

The Tigers defense has allowed an average of 14.8 points per game, goof for 15th in the country. The downside is they allow an average of 244 passing yards per game, which ranks all the way down at 89th.
The key for the Tigers will be to pressure the Ole Miss quarterback, to force him out of the pocket and potentially make a few mistakes throwing downfield.
