This week six matchup will see the Oklahoma State Cowboys and the Texas Tech Red Raiders go head to head.
Both teams play in the Big 12, making this game extremely important. Also, both sides have one loss in the conference which makes this meeting a must win for both schools. The Big 12 does not have two divisions, so to have two conference losses this early basically takes them out of contention for the Big 12 title game.

Last season Texas Tech beat Oklahoma State 41-17. This game was at Oklahoma State, so the Cowboys will be looking for revenge this season.
Oklahoma State Cowboys
The Cowboys put on a dominating performance to beat Kansas State last week. The final score was 26-13, but this game was never really that close and the Cowboys controlled the game from the opening kickoff.
The Cowboys racked up 526 total yards, led by their ground game. They had 373 yards rushing and just 153 yards passing.
Chuba Hubbard was an absolute beast in this game. He had 296 yards on 25 carries an one touchdown. Hubbard out-gained the entire Wildcats team to put it into perspective.
The Cowboys rushing attack now ranks 6th in the country and the Cowboys average 291 yards on the ground per game.
The defense was not a strong point for this Cowboys team seeing what they did against Texas. However, they completely turned things around by shutting down the Wildcats. They allowed just 244 total yards.
They also held Kansas State to 1 of 13 on third down (8%), which was a big reason why they were able to control the game. Now they will be facing a pass heavy Texas Tech side, so getting pressure on their quarterback is crucial.
Texas Tech Red Raiders
The Red Raiders were absolutely crushed by Oklahoma, losing 55-16. They never even had a chance in this game and it was basically over after the first quarter.

Their offense came out extremely flat, putting up 316 total yards. On average they gain 458.2 total yards per game, 33rd in the country, so to see them struggle this much on the offensive side of the ball is concerning. It is not like Oklahoma has the best defense either so it is somewhat hard to believe that they will have success against the Cowboys.
The Red Raiders defense probably played their worst game this season as they allowed 646 total yards. Granted they were playing Jalen Hurts, a top candidate for the Heisman Trophy, but still this is just a terrible site.
The Sooners beat them through the air for the most part, but still managed to gain 203 yards on the ground. This is the biggest worry for Texas Tech because the Cowboys have an elite running back.
The only way the Red Raiders are going to have a chance is if they bottle up the run and force the Cowboys to beat them through the air. Even then, their secondary is going to play at a much higher level otherwise the score will look similar to last week.
NCAA Football Handicapping Trends
- Oklahoma State are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games.
- Texas Tech are 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 games.
Free Week 6 NCAA Football Pick
Oklahoma State looked like a much better team last week against Kansas State. Especially on the defensive side on the ball. I like the Cowboys to win this game on the road and to stay in the hunt for a chance to play in the Big 12 title game.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Oklahoma State -10
Even though you have to lay double-digits, the Cowboys are my pick because the Red Raiders defense is absolutely terrible. If Oklahoma can run for 200+ yards, the Cowboys are going to have a field day on the ground and I think they will be able to cover this spread quite easily.
