The Oklahoma State Cowboys are travelling to Lawrence to take on the Kansas Jayhawks this Saturday. These two teams are on opposite ends of the spectrum in the Big 12.
The 1-5 Jayhawks have yet to win a conference game and hope to turn the season around here.
The Cowboys, on the other hand, are still very relevant and could compete for the Big 12 Championship if they run the table.
They would still need help in order for that to happen, but they can keep their hopes alive if they walk out of Lawrence with a win.
Oklahoma State Cowboys
The Cowboys have been one of the best teams in the Big 12 this year despite their 4-2 record.
We all know that they should actually be 5-1 and in second place in the conference after the Week 2 ripoff, but there is no use in dwelling on the past.
After a tough loss to Baylor in Waco, the Cowboys have won two straight and are coming off a bye last week.
Quarterback Mason Rudolph has been spectacular so far with 2,039 yards passing and 13 touchdowns.
That is good enough for 8th in the nation in passing yards per game with 350.5. Unfortunately, the running game has been virtually nonexistent and they are only gaining 129.7 yards on the ground per game.
The defense has been up and down, but should be able to handle the Jayhawks’ average offense.
The Jayhawks started off the season on a good note with a 55-6 blowout over Rhode Island. It may have just been a cupcake home opener, but the offense was very impressive and gave fans hope for the future.
That was the end of the good news for Kansas. Since that game, they have dropped five straight including at least two in which they should have at least been competitive.
They were blown out by the undefeated Big 12 leading Baylor Bears last week 49-7.
Kansas has struggled on both sides of the ball this year, and their schedule is not getting any easier. Quarterback Ryan Willis only has 811 yards and three touchdowns, and their leading rusher only has 264 yards and one score.
The defense may have been even worse through the six games, allowing 35.7 points per game this year which is 111th in the nation.
They only allowed three points in the one victory, if that gives you any idea of how bad they have been since.

Free Week 8 NCAA Football Prediction
The Oklahoma State offense will be way too much for the Kansas defense to handle. Quarterback Ryan Willis is one of the best in the Big 12 and knows how to pick apart the weaknesses of a team.
Their only issue is being so one-dimensional, but that shouldn’t be a huge issue against Kansas.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Under 61
Kansas has not shown that they can score consistently against even average defenses. The OK State defense isn’t great, but it will probably be more than enough to keep the Jayhawks off the board, for the most part.
