Oklahoma might have played their best game of the season last week beating TCU on the road.
The same could be said for Texas Tech, who beat West Virginia.
These two programs are in different tiers but this OU is not as dominant as they have been in the past.
Oklahoma Sooners
Oklahoma might have put the league on notice last week by winning at TCU. Not the high-level result but the fact that they gave up just 14 points in the victory.
If the Sooners can get solid defense on the regular they might be able to stay in the race in the B12 and hope another team slides.
The offense put up 33 points in the win. Spencer Rattler had a clean game and they are going to be in great shape when that happens.
The running game has been better of late with TJ Pledge rushing for over 120 yards in back to back games. That means Rattler doesn’t have to do it all.
Oklahoma still has the most talent in the conference. They just have to play like it more consistently.
Texas Tech Red Raiders
The good news for Texas Tech is that Oklahoma is definitely beatable this season. The bad is that they are probably not good enough to do it.
Though getting their first conference win of the year last week against West Virginia was nice I am not sure the Red Raiders are solid about their identity right now.
This season they are more balanced on offense than they have been in some time. That is probably a good thing overall but they are kind of in-between identities still. Coach Matt Wells is trying to get them to move forward.
Another thing that is not going to help Texas Tech is that Oklahoma has to have their eyes wide open at this point, not taking anybody too lightly.

Free Week 9 NCAA Football Pick
At first, I thought that hook was going to be a thing but now I am more confident the visitors will be in control of this one.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Oklahoma -14.5
Sure those hooks leave backdoors covers a little more wide open but I think Oklahoma may have found something last week. They don’t have to be as fast as they have been in the past, that might not be the formula this season.
Spencer Rattler is an elite talent, they just need to give him more time before they start using him the way they did the guys before him. Nothing wrong with winning games 35-13.
