This non conference matchup has College Football Playoff implications for both teams. A win for the Buckeyes solidifies them as a legitimate championship contender.
Another loss for Oklahoma and their best hope to salvage the season will be a New Years Six Bowl.

The Buckeyes played two easy tune up games against Bowling Green and Tulsa. The Sooners started the season off with a tough loss against Houston and then a convincing victory against UL Monroe.
Ohio State Buckeyes
Riding the wave of the national championship in 2014, Coach Meyer had Cardale Jones start as quarterback during the beginning of the season.
I’ve always felt QB JT Barrett was the next Troy Smith, and since he is completely healthy this year he should have a Heisman worthy type of season.
His ability to throw and run should give the Sooners defense fits all game, and I expect him to have 250 yards passing, 75 yards rushing, and 5 total touchdowns.
JT Barrett isn’t the only threat on the ground for the buckeyes, as sophomore Mike Weber should use his strength and agility to batter the Sooners defense all game.
Junior running back Chris Samuel has been red hot to start the season, making a number of plays on the ground and receiving the ball. Look for him to have 60 yards rushing and 100 yards receiving.

The defense has looked great so far this season, possessing a lot of speed at each level of the unit.
Look for the linebackers to keep Oklahoma’s slot receivers from breaking free and picking up lots of yards after the catch.
It won’t surprise me to see them force Baker Mayfield into a couple of turnovers late in the game.
Oklahoma Sooners
Baker Mayfield will need to be at his best in this home game for the Sooners to have a shot against Ohio St. I expect him to have a pedestrian game with around 200 yards through the air and a touchdown.
Samaje Perine has had a rough start to the season. He has only rushed for 89 yards in two contests and picked up 2 scores against UL Monroe.
If the Sooners are to have any chance he must hit the 100 yard mark with a couple of scores.
The other key to the offense will be running back Joe Mixon, if Samaje Perine can’t get things going Mixon will have to carry the workload.
He has had a good start to the season with consistent plays running and receiving the ball.
The buckeyes defense will have to keep an eye on him when he goes in motion out of the backfield.

After a rough first game against Houston, the defense bounced back in dominating fashion against the Warhawks. This week they face one of the best quarterbacks in the country and one of the best offensive minds in football.
They will have a tough task ahead of them. They should still pick up a couple of sacks against the Buckeyes O-line but it will be a long day for the unit.

Free Week 3 NCAA Football Prediction
Oklahoma has had the reputation of not showing up in the big game the last couple of seasons, and I expect that to continue this week as the Buckeyes come in clicking on all cylinders.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Buckeyes ATS, take the over
Look for JT Barrett to put in a performance for the ages this week. He will make big play after big play and lead the Buckeyes offense into the endzone all night.
The Oklahoma offense will play catch up and utilize their speed against the buckeyes secondary but it won’t be enough to get the home victory.
