We will see one of the most anticipated games of the college football season this Saturday when Notre Dame heads south to play the Georgia Bulldogs at Sanford Stadium in Athens. Both teams come into this one undefeated, Notre Dame 2-0 and Georgia 3-0. Also, both teams are ranked in the top ten, the Irish at 7th and my Dawgs at 3rd.

Neither team has really been pushed yet this season and then has a defensive fight written all over it. Both teams need a win if they look to play in this season’s College Football Playoffs.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish were unstoppable in their season opener last week, smashing the New Mexico Lobos 66-14. Notre Dame racked up 25 first downs in the contest, converting on all four of their fourth-down attempts.
The Irish had a total of 591 yards, 434 of which came through the air. When Notre Dame kept the ball on the ground, they managed to pick up an average of 4.1 yards per carry.
Quarterback Ian Book was able to complete 15 of his 24 passing attempts for 360 yards and five touchdowns. He was also Notre Dame’s leading rusher with 46 yards and another score on nine carries.
That being said, keep your eyes on Kyren Williams this week. He ran the ball for over six yards per carry last Saturday. Wide receiver Chase Claypool only caught four passes but picked up 96 yards with a touchdown of his own.

On defense, the Irish gave up 363 total yards to New Mexico. The secondary played tight, keeping the Lobos to just 151 yards through the air, but they struggled against the run.
New Mexico had 212 rushing yards with an average of 4.6 yards per carry. If the Irish have any chance of winning this week or even covering the spread for that matter, they have to stop the run against Georgia. Good luck.
After playing two games this season, Notre Dame is averaging 313.5 passing yards and 193.5 rushing this season. They have been able to put up 50.5 points per game while holding their opponents to just 15 and a half. Again, they’ve played Louisville and New Mexico. That’s all I’m going to say.
Georgia Bulldogs
The Dawgs trashed the Arkansas State Red Wolves last week 55-0. They finally let up off the gas after going into the locker room 34-0 to drink some Gatorade at halftime. They picked up a total of 27 first downs, moving the chains on four of 10 third-down opportunities.
The Dawgs had 656 yards of total offense, tossing the ball for 388 on 26 of 33 attempts. Georgia galloped for 268 rushing yards, picking up over eight yards per carry.
Quarterback Jake Fromm hooked up on 17 of his 22 passes for 279 yards and three touchdowns. Sophomore Stetson Bennett didn’t look too bad himself, completing nine of 10 passes for 109 yards.
D’Andre Swift was the leading rusher for the Bulldogs with 76 yards on nine carries. Dominick Blaylock was the leading receiver with 112 yards and a score on four receptions.
Georgia has been able to throw the ball for an average of 278.7 yards per game this season while running for 286. They are currently 10th in the country with 49.3 points per game while the defense has held the opposition to under eight points a contest. For the record, there are only two teams in the country better in that category.

Free Week 4 NCAA Football Pick
The Dawgs are giving up 14 points in this game with a total of 56. Here’s the deal. I was raised and currently live about an hour and a half from Notre Dame Stadium. I cover the Irish for a website. But, I spent a couple years in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.
You don’t live down there without hating the SEC until you learn to love them. Some of the people I despised most had one thing in common. They were Gator fans. Naturally, I fell in love with the Dawgs.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Georgia -14
Because I follow both of these teams very extensively, I’m not going to mess with the 14 point spread. For the record, Dawgs win. Sic’em. I do like this one staying under 56, though.
