Central Michigan has bee a nice story this season. They still need a few more wins to show that it ends well though.
Northern Illinois has been hard to predict this season. They are off a big win, can they keep up the momentum.

Northern Illinois Huskies
When the Huskies lost four in a row three were to Power 5 opponents – Utah, Nebraska and Vanderbilt. In the MAC they are 2-2 and are looking to build on last week’s drubbing of Akron.
Beating up on the Zips only gets you so far but a shutout is still a shutout and they did it without starting quarterback Russ Bowers. They dominated in every way.
Bowers is recovering from a concussion but expected to be back for this one. He is more of a thrower than the “classic” quarterbacks the Huskies have had in the past. The Cal transfer has been OK but not great.
Northern Illinois has one of the best defenses in the MAC. They are not loaded with future pros but they fight hard and keep the play in front of them. They make you work.

The line on this one is interesting with NIU a slight favourite right now. I thought it would be the opposite.
Central Michigan Chippewas
The Chippewas are having a nice season, a return to being a contender in the MAC. It is pretty evenly divided between being at home and on the road. They struggle with the latter so it is very important that they take advantage of this home opportunity.
Quinten Dormady has moved around throughout his career, Tennessee to Houston to CMU. He has started the last couple of games and put up some yards. He needs to be better on turnovers though.
CMU is good at running the ball with a couple of backs already over 600 yards on the season. They might have two 1000 yards backs at the end of the year, which is rare.
These teams seem pretty evenly matched which is why I was surprised that the Chippewas are not the favourite, even if it is only based on the location of the game. I am not sure I would fade them at home.
