The NC State Wolfpack will be looking to remain undefeated on the season when they head to Morgantown Saturday to line up against the West Virginia Mountaineers.
NC State came up big last week against Western Carolina and will be looking to build off the momentum against a tougher program.
The Mountaineers will be looking to get things back on track after falling 38-7 last Saturday at Missouri. West Virginia will have to be productive running the ball if they look to put the Wolfpack in the loss column for the first time this season.
NC State Wolfpack
24-0. That was the score last week when the two teams hit the locker room at the half. The NC State Wolfpack went on to demolish the Western Carolina Catamounts by a final score of 41-0.

NC State was able to move the chains for 32 first downs in the game, converting on six of their 14 third-down opportunities.
They racked up a total of 540 yards, 309 of which were picked up in the running game. As a team, State averaged an impressive 5.8 yards per carry. There really wasn’t much of a need to throw the ball.
Quarterback Matthew McKay completed 18 of 28 passing attempts for 200 yards and a touchdown. Wide receiver Cory Angeline led the way with four receptions, 47 yards, and a score.

Running back Zonovan Knight took on the role as work hoarse for the Wolfpack, running the ball 18 times for 119 yards, crossing the goal line twice in the contest.
Two games into the season, NC State is averaging 272.5 passing yards a game to go along with 250 rushing yards per contest. They have scored an average of 37.5 points per game while the defense is currently ranked second in the country, giving up a total of just three points after two weeks.
West Virginia Mountaineers
The West Virginia Mountaineers are now 1-1 after falling 38-7 to the Tigers in Missouri last week. They found themselves down 0-31 at the half and never managed to create any rhythm.
The Mountaineers only collected 13 first downs in the contest, moving the chains seven out of 16 chances on third down.
West Virginia was limited to just 171 total yards in the game. They connected on 17 of 28 passing attempts but only managed to pick up .9 yards per carry. No, that’s not a typo. They had .9 yards per carry as in point nine.
Austin Kendall completed 15 of his 25 attempts for 137 yards and a touchdown.
He also managed to complete two passes to the Missouri defense. Running back Alec Sinkfield ran the ball nine times for 27 yards. George Campbell was the team’s leading receiver with 59 yards and a touchdown on two receptions.
After two games this year, the Mountaineers are averaging 200.5 yards per contest. No, that’s not exactly horrible. But they have had zero help from the running game. They average just 32 rushing yards per contest.

Free Week 3 NCAA Football Pick
In case you’ve just been skipping through and reading the bold print. The Wolfpack have the second-best defense in the country when it comes to stopping the run. On top of that, they’re absolutely crushing opposing defenses when they run the ball themselves.
They picked up over 300 rushing yards last week.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: NC State ATS
I don’t think they get quite that many in Morgantown, but I don’t see the Mountaineers having much success when it comes to stopping the run. West Virginia gives up 25.5 points a game and I think that number will be higher after this game’s said and done.
I was shocked when I saw how low the spread is for this game. NC State is giving up 7.5 and they should have no problem covering that. As one-sided as the West Virginia offense has been, the Wolfpack defense will have no problem winning by two touchdowns, if not more.
