Wake has been one of the most pleasant surprises this season. They are winning and are not being shy about doing so.
NC State has probably been a little better than expected but needs to keep pushing to get bowl eligible.

There has been more talent come through Raleigh over the last cycle than most people probably realize. That is why it has been tough to reload.
Last week at BC it seems like they might have found their quarterback of the future though in Devin Leary who threw for three TDs coming off the bench as a freshman.
He is not going to help a defense that got steamrolled by the Eagles though, literally. They gave up over 400 yards rushing to BC.
Prior to that game, the run defense has actually been a strength this season so let’s hope it normalizes for this one. Wake is not as focused on that part of the game as BC.

There might be enough talent on NC State to challenge here but they have really struggled on the road.
Wake Forest Demon Deacons
I don’t think Wake Forest was having delusions of winning the ACC this season but it would have been fun if they has stretched out being unbeaten until they took on Clemson. They lost by three at home to Louisville a couple of weeks ago but bounced back to beat Florida State last week.
The key has been an offensive that racks up yards and points. They are fifth in the nation in yards thanks to a passing attack that is 7th. This is Wake Forest, remember.
Junior QB Jamie Newman has been at the centre of the passing attack but he missed the FSU game with a shoulder injury. He is expected to suit up for this one.
The Wake Forest defense is in the middle of the pack statistically. That plays just fine as long as they are able to move the ball at will.
