Week eight will see the Missouri Tigers take on the Vanderbilt Commodores.
[dfads params=’groups=220&limit=1&return_javascript=1′]
Both teams are in the SEC East, but this is more of a must win game for Missouri. The Tigers are 2-0 in conference play and need a win to keep pace with Florida and Georgia.
The meeting in 2018 saw the Tigers outlast the Commodores 33-28.
Missouri Tigers
The Tigers are coming off a win over Ole Miss by a score of 38-27. Ever since their opening week loss to Wyoming, the Tigers have gone 5-0.
Their offense looked great in this most recent game, totaling 562 yards. They kept their offense balanced, picking up 233 yards on the ground and 329 yards through the air. They rushed for 5.4 yards per play, an averaged 9.1 yards per pass play, so they had no trouble moving the football.
They are now averaging 38.8 points per game this season, 17th best in the country. Against two SEC opponents, they average 36 points per game, so not really that much of a drop-off.
Kelly Bryant continues to excel with his new team an even though he played last week banged up, he still managed to throw for 329 yards.

Defensively, the Tigers have continued to look great all year long. They allow 15.8 points per game, ranked 11th in the country. They also have the 4th best pass defense, allowing 154.7 passing yards per game.
Against SEC opponents, they are allowing 20.5 points per game, but this is somewhat expected because generally SEC teams are tougher than the teams they played in the non-conference.
Because the Tigers are solid in both the pass and rush defense, look for them to really limit what Vandy can do.
Vanderbilt Commodores
Vanderbilt is just downright awful this season. They just lost again at home to UNLV. They were a two touchdown favorite in this game and the score was 34-10, so they just showed no effort.
The offense is one of the main concern for the Commodores, averaging 18 points per game. This is ranked 119th in the country. They somehow managed to score 38 on the LSU Tigers, but against three SEC opponents, they still average only 16.6 points per game.
They do not seem to have a reliable quarterback and their best player, running back, Ke’Shawn Vaughn, is listed as questionable with an undisclosed injury. If Vaughn is unable to play, the Commodores are going to have a ton of trouble even remotely moving the ball against the Tigers.
Defense is another glaring issue that may even be worse than their offense. They allow 36.8 points per game overall, 120th in the country. In their conference games, they allow 42.3 points per game. Also, in every major category their defense ranks in the 100’s.
The Commodores basically have no chance of slowing down this offense. Maybe if they can force some turnovers by Kelly Bryant, they will have a very slim chance to limit the Tigers, but otherwise this game could get ugly early.

Free Week 8 NCAA Football Pick
Missouri should easily be 6-0 right now if not for a game they blew in week one. The Tigers have Kentucky on deck, so this is not a game where they should come out flat. I like Missouri to blow Vandy out and remain at the top of the SEC East standings for the time being.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: UNDER 56
Vandy has showed no signs of being able to move the football. Besides the game where they hung 38 on a shaky LSU defense, they cannot score. I think this game will be a blow out and the Missouri Tigers will basically do all the scoring. That said, I like the under in this game.
