This transition season for Mizzou is not going so great. Eli Drinkwitz and the program might be taking a mulligan this season.
LSU got stunned by Mississippi State in the opener, a loss that has not aged well. They bounced back but we need to see more.
One thing we know for sure is that the Tigers are going to win.
Missouri Tigers
COVID or not the Tigers have not had much go right for them this season. The offense is not scoring and the defense is not bailing them out.
Not sure where they are going at quarterback this week. Shawn Robinson has experience but that has been a good and bad thing for him. Freshman Connor Bazelak got most of the playing time last week against Tennessee.
Mizzou wants to emphasize RB Larry Rountree III but it is hard when they are behind, which they have been for most of the season.
The defense was supposed to be able to hold their own. They need it to come out strong for a game so they can stay on schedule and give their offense a chance to perform.
Going to LSU with a freshman quarterback in a pandemic year does not sound like the formula for getting their first win for their new coach.
LSU Tigers
After getting ambushed by Mississippi State, LSU looked much better in beating up Vanderbilt last week. This year’s team is just not as as good as last year’s so the sooner we stop comparing the better it will be for everyone involved.
Myles Brennan definitely looked more comfortable in his second start. He was methodical and consistent but still needs to be a little more careful with the football.
The rest of the offense seems to be coming together. They are breaking in lots of new skill players so you see it in flashes.
The defense only gave up seven points which is a nice total. Similar to the offense though they are using new players in roles all over the field.

Free Week 6 NCAA Football Pick
These big lines always make me look at the underdog first. Mizzou has not been very feisty this season, though they did cover against Alabama.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: LSU -20.5
That ATS win was of the backdoor variety. They were never in the game and ultimately the Crimson Tide took their foot off the gas in the opener. LSU might be looking to prove something as they recover.
LSUs defense likely gives up more to Mizzou than they did to Vandy but even if that doubles to 14 I still like the situation.
