I really miss the good old days when this was the game that you had to watch. It was elite teams and always one of the best of the season.
Now both are just looking to get bowl eligible. It is almost hard to understand how it has come to this.

Miami Hurricanes
Manny Diaz has not been the solution in Miami. At least not yet. They might be better than we think though.
Losing to Georgia Tech was kind of inexcusable but at the same time the Hurricanes have not lost a game by more than 7 points this season. They are not getting embarrassed.
They are not beating up on opponents either though. If you throw out their FCS win all of their other wins have been within 8 points. They are playing a lot of close games.
The defense has been somewhat Miami like, they are in the top 20 in yards and points allowed…even if they are not stomping on throats the way they used to.

If they can figure out some consistent offense this team might be able to win their final four games and close the season on a high note.
Florida State Seminoles
Florida State has a tougher road down the stretch than Miami if they want to be eligible for a bowl game. This is a game they probably have to get.
I suppose it is no surprise that the Noles are 4-4 as they score 29ppg and give up 29ppg. Those averages are so far from the glory days though and that has to change quickly. Especially on defense. I don’t know what happened to that group.
When FSU has the ball they have been focused on unlocking Cam Akers. He is having his best season in Tallahassee and is just one TD shy of his combined total from his freshman and sophomore season. They have finally realized giving him the ball more makes sense.
Quarterback James Blackman looks like the type who is going to have a great senior season. The problem is he is only a sophomore. Miami is going to test him.
