The Louisville Cardinals have high expectations for the season but they looked terrible in the first game. The offense could only manage seven points and that led to the blowout victory. Quarterback Malik Cunningham didn’t look good and he completed 16 of his 22 passes for 152 yards, zero touchdowns, and two interceptions.
Running back Tiyon Evans did have a nice game running 13 times for 89 yards and a touchdown. Wide receiver Tyler Hudson caught eight passes for 102 yards. In this game the offense needs to be good.
The defense also needs to step up. If the defense is bad this is going to be a long game for Louisville, and another blowout loss.
UCF Knights
On the other side of this matchup is the Central Florida Knights and they were able to beat SC State 56-10 in the first game. At the end of the first quarter they were up 21-0 and they never looked back as they cruised to the victory.
Under center for UCF is John Rhys Plumlee and he has completed 20 of his 31 passes for 308 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed 15 times for 86 yards and a touchdown. Isaiah Bowser also rushed 23 times for 83 yards and two touchdowns.
Javon Baker and Kemore Gamble both had big games out of wide both bringing in over 80 yards and a touchdown.
