Kansas State has yet to lose a conference game and is looking to keep that streak intact at TCU.
The Horned Frogs are off a big win and have to be wondering what if they had Max Duggan for all of that Iowa State game.
These teams should give us a good battle on Saturday afternoon.
Kansas State Wildcats
The Wildcats have been in the headlines a lot more than normal this season. First it was for losing to Arkansas State and then it was for beating Oklahoma.
Key to the wins over the Sooners was the play of QN Skylar Thompson. He is questionable for this one.
Backup QB Will Howard played well last week. He is just a freshman though and there is a big difference between tacking on TCU than Texas Tech on defense.
The K-State defense has just been OK this year. They gave up 21 points to Tech last week but Oklahoma and Arkansas State scored in the 30s.
This line seems very reflective of preseason expectations, not what we have seen on the field. Thompson has to be available for the Wildcats to have a chance.
TCU Horned Frogs
Last week TCU won at Texas. Since coming to the Big 12 the Horned Frogs have given the Longhorns fits. Garry Patterson is still probably the best coach in the Conference.
In a game and a half, Max Duggan is completing almost 75% of his passes. He makes smart choices with the football and is looking good.
He is also the team’s leading rusher so far. That is something they are going to have to change if they want to have big success.
We have yet to see that vintage TCU defense but Kansas State is not as dynamic as Iowa State or Texas. They can keep improving in that area.
