Indiana vs. Rutgers is, admittedly, not that sexy of a matchup. But still, college football is college football and the Hoosiers have actually been pretty entertaining to watch in 2016. Rutgers…not so much.
Indiana still has a lot to play for; a bowl berth, and a potentially good one at that, being the chase during the final stretch of their season. Rutgers? Not so much.
They’d need a miracle turnaround and blazing finish to the season to become bowl eligible and their skill level and talent just won’t get them there.
But to think this game is going to be a blowout would be wrong, as the Hoosiers have a knack for playing close games and Rutgers look to have slightly improved after embarrassing shutouts against Ohio State and Michigan.
Indiana has had a pretty slick 2016 campaign.
After starting off the season 3-1 and surprising many, the Hoosiers were brought back down to reality with three straight losses to Ohio State, Nebraska, and Northwestern.
However, these were not the blowout losses they had been in the past, and the Hoosiers look to be sporting a decent defense that should have no issues against Rutgers.
Coach Kevin Wilson has revitalized the Hoosiers offensively as well, as Indiana has torched opponents on the ground while scoring 42 in their last game against Maryland.
Look for them to play with even more passion down the stretch as they look towards bowl eligibility. Rutgers is a prime opportunity to inch just a bit closer to that mark.
Rutgers Scarlet Knights
Rutgers, Rutgers, Rutgers.
They were absolutely embarrassed against Ohio State and Michigan and their only two wins on the year have come against Howard and New Mexico.
They don’t have a stellar offense, have a shoddy defense, and are just a bad team all around. Add that to decommitments on the recruiting trail and you have quite the mess in Piscataway.
The only shot Rutgers has in this game is if they control the game clock and force the Hoosiers to win the game through the air.

Free Week 10 NCAA Football Prediction
Indiana has a great opportunity to move towards bowl eligibility against Rutgers. Rutgers has a shot at their first Big Ten win of the season, no matter how slim of chance they may have.
There is no quit in college football and as we all know, anything can happen on Saturday. Does that mean the Scarlet Knights will pull the upset in this one?
No. I don’t think they will at all. In fact, the Hoosiers should have no problem securing their fifth win of 2016.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Hoosiers ATS
Indiana should be able to control all facets of this game, though it won’t be a terribly high-scoring affair due to the Hoosier’s ground-and-pound offense.
I’ll look for Indiana to win comfortably while stifling the Scarlet Knights on the offensive side of the ball.
