We have reached week four of the college football season, and most teams have gotten into the conference portion of the games.
One of those conference games is a Mountain West showdown late Saturday night at War Memorial Stadium.
The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors make the trip to Wyoming to take on the Cowboys. Hawaii won the last match up in 2014 by the final score of 38-28.
Hawaii Rainbow Warriors
The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors have had a pretty normal season so far.
They looked really good in the game they should have won, and they looked pretty bad in the game they were supposed to lose.
In the first game of the season they played UMASS and won a very close game 38-35.
In their second game they played an FCS level school and won by the final score of 41-18. The next week they played the UCLA Bruins and lost by a final score of 56-23.
Hawaii is led by quarterback Dru Brown who has looked decent so far this season. He comes into this game having thrown for 772 yards and and seven touchdowns, which is very good.
But the biggest downfall of his game so far is his turnover issues. He has thrown four interceptions for this year, and if the Rainbow Warriors want to win this game, they need him to play really well, and not turnover the ball at all.
The defense also needs to be aggressive and the pass rush needs to be really good.
Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen doesn’t do well when there is pressure, and that would be the key to the Warriors winning this game.
On the other side of this match up is the Wyoming Cowboys who had really high hopes for this season and were expected to at least compete with the Power Five conference teams, but that has been far from the case.
Their two losses have been to Wyoming and Iowa and in those games they have scored a total of 16 points.
Josh Allen is supposed to be an NFL level quarterback, and to only put up 16 points against good competition is really bad.
But the good thing for the Cowboys is the main goal is to compete for the Mountain West conference, and that can still happen because this is the first conference game the Cowboys have played.
To win this game it’s all going to be about Josh Allen and the Cowboys offense. He needs to be efficient and the play calling needs to be such that he is allowed to pass the ball.
