Georgia is slowly but surely getting the respect that they deserve from bettors as well as just casual fans.

Tennessee will welcome a red hot Georgia to town in a game that could determine how much longer Butch Jones sticks around as head coach for the Vols.
Georgia Bulldogs
Georgia is gaining some respect but I am still not sure that they are getting enough yet.
Their road win over Notre Dame is starting to look more impressive as the Irish run with will against each team and Georgia was able to keep their run game in check almost all game long.
Their convincing win over Mississippi State jumped them up to number 7 in the nation but they still open here as only 7.5 point favorites against the Vols – who are coming off barely surviving UMass at home who appears to be one of the worst teams in the FBS.
The injury to starting quarterback Jacob Eason looked like it could be damaging for the Bulldogs but Jake Fromm has stepped in and it appears it is now his job to keep.
The Georgia backfield is terrifying with Sony Michel, Nick Chubb, and now D’Andre Swift.
The defensive front is completely dominant as their games against the rushing attacks of Mississippi State and Notre Dame showed.

This isn’t really a letdown spot for the Bulldogs either as no SEC road game can be overlooked and their next game against Vanderbilt doesn’t make this a lookahead game.
It is hard to understand the spread except for just that crazy things happen in the SEC and Tennessee could be playing for Butch Jones to keep his job.
Tennessee Volunteers
Tennessee is 3-1 on the season but has hardly played like a 3-1 football team. They somehow managed to pull out a 42-41 overtime victory in Week 1 against Georgia Tech despite being outgained by nearly 300 yards.
They followed that up with a convincing win over FCS Indiana State and then a heartbreaking loss to Florida on the final play of the game.
Last week, the Vols barely survived UMass at home as a 28 point favorite. Their offense could not get anything going and they failed to control a much lesser opponent than them.
Rumors are flying that Butch Jones has lost the team and he is on the hot seat. This game could dictate his future and it is hard to know if that will motivate his players or not.
Based off of the run defense Tennessee showed in the first game against Georgia Tech, they could be in for a long day against the Bulldogs’ three headed backfield monster.

Offensively, the Vols have looked pretty lost in their last two games – managing just 37 total points in the two games after scoring over 40 in each of the first two.
John Kelly has been the brightest spot on the Vols as he has shown he can be a star but facing Georgia’s run defense that has dominated other strong rushing offenses does not bode well for Kelly.
It is going to be up to quarterback Quinten Dormady to make some plays – something he hasn’t shown in the last two games with 4 picks in those two games.
NCAA Football Handicapping Trends
- Under is 12-4 in Georgia’s last 16 games as a favorite.
- Under is 20-7 in Georgia’s last 27 games overall.
- Georgia is 4-1 ATS in their last games – covering the spread by an average of 9 points in those games.
Free Week 5 NCAA Football Pick
I think Tennessee will struggle to move the football and the road atmosphere could make for a troubling start for the freshman Fromm for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs should pull away with this one and Butch Jones could be out of a job by Sunday morning if the Vols lay an egg.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Under 46.5
46.5 is a low number to go under and have the favorite cover the spread but I think this is a game where that happens. Georgia will control this game in the trenches.
