Life as we know it here in Jacksonville Florida will be put on pause for just a couple of hours when all the obnoxious Georgia fans invade our community for the Bulldogs and Gator game downtown at Ever Bank Field this Saturday.
The annual event has been given the title of the World’s Largest Cocktail Party and it never fails to fill the cells with the pride of Georgia at the Duval County Jail.
The Florida Gators have had the last two weeks to prepare for the game after having a bye week last weekend.
Their last time on the field, the Gators dominated the Missouri Tigers by a final of 40-14.
The Bulldogs are also coming off of their bye and failed to get the job done against Vanderbilt their last time on the field.
The game was close, but the dawgs fell just short 17-16.
The Florida Gators are coming into the game sitting on top of the SEC East, as well as being ranked #14 in the country.
Florida shouldn’t have any issue hanging on to the division throughout the rest of the season if they are able to come away with the victory over Georgia in this one.
The Gators sprinted out of the blocks against the Missouri Tigers and were out in front 20-0 before the first quarter came to a close.
Florida was too much for the Tigers and out gained them 523 total yards to just 363.
The Gator defense was also involved with the scoring, returning two interceptions to the end zone to add some points of their own to the scoreboard.
The Gators offense has looked like teams of old this season, piling up an average of 426.5 yards and 30.3 points per game.
Their defense gave up a total of 38 in the loss to Tennessee, but have only allowed a combined 34 points through the rest of the season.
They are currently ranked 2nd in the nation when it comes to scoring defense, only giving up 12 points per game.
The Georgia Bulldogs have had a tough going of it this year, losing three of their last four games before the bye.
The season can best be summed up with the game against Nicholls State, a game Georgia was favored by 52.5 and barely escaped with a two point victory.
Georgia was able to put together a solid effort against the Tennessee Volunteers, but came up short at the end.
The Bulldogs also greased Vanderbilt in total yards, but were unable to translate the yardage into points on the scoreboard.
The Bulldogs have broken the hearts of the Georgia faithful once again this season, but they have had a few flashes of greatness from running back Nick Chubb.
When he hasn’t been beat up too severe and has been able to play he has racked up 586 yards on 116 touches.
Freshman quarterback Jacob Eason has shown some promise with 1,366 yards on 113 of 208 attempts, but he has also shown his youth with five interceptions.
NCAA Football Handicapping Trends

Free Week 9 NCAA Football Prediction
Lets be realistic for just a minute and look at this game for what it really is.
The Florida Gators are once again in the running for the SEC Championship while the Bulldogs are doing everything they can to avoid another coaching change.
The Georgia offense has been average on their best days while the Gators have one of the best defenses in the country.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Florida -6.5
The Florida defense will be too much for the one dimensional offense Georgia brings to the field. If the Gators are able to keep Chubb in check, the Gators will have no problem running away with this one.
Florida has more than enough options on offense to keep the Bulldogs guessing at what they are going to do next. I like Florida minus the points in this one.
