Florida is excited to get the season started. This has been the best team they have had in years. They might be playoff bound.
Ole Miss has optimism too with new coach Lane Kiffin. He always makes things interesting.

Florida Gators
Dan Mullen is 21-5 in two years at Florida. Last year they only lost to LSU and Georgia as the Gators enjoyed their best season in years.
They have a fair amount of turnover but Kyle Trask is considered the best quarterback in the league and three starters return in front of him. TE Kyle itts is a real weapon too.
The defense was second in the SEC last season and returns half the starters. Obviously that means some players have to step up but they recruit so well and have so many athletes on that side of the ball I am not really worried.
This season is all about whether they are ready for their close up. Can they beat Georgia to take the division and maybe more.
There is a lot of buzz on the Gators right now but it is justified too. This has the feeling of a breakthrough season.
Ole Miss Rebels
Getting Lane Kiffin is definitely not the safe approach but that has never been the way that Ole Miss wants to play it. They want to win, not just get better.
Kiffin has a fun toy to work with in QB John Rhys Plumlee. The sophomore was the leading rusher that last season but can throw too. With Kiffin’s creativity it should be interesting.
A running quarterback can be the ultimate equalizer when you are outmanned overall. Look for Rebels to try and take advantage . Plumlee will make some plays.
The defense was bad last season and Kiffin made the controversial hire of DJ Durkin. There is some talent there and Florida is kind of vanilla on offense so they have a chance to keep this one close.
