The Florida Gators will be in hostile territory this Saturday night when they head to the Bayou to take the field against LSU at Tiger Stadium. Both teams will look to remain unbeaten on the year with serious conference play in full swing.
The Florida Gators were impressive last week with a 24-13 win against Auburn at the Swamp. The Tigers beat down Utah State 42-6 at home. Both teams are ranked and will be playing their toughest opponent of this point in the season.
The Florida Gators have a solid start to the year, despite losing their starting quarterback for the season against the Wildcats in Kentucky. They’ve been able to score an average of 32.3 points per game this season while holding opponents to just 9.5.
The Gators have been good for an average of 424.3 yards per game, 284.5 through the air and 139.8 on the ground. Defensively, Florida has been one of the best teams in the nation. They have been holding opponents to just 9.5 points per game with only 93 yards on the ground.
Last week against Auburn, quarterback Kyle Trask completed 19 of 31 passes for 234 yards and two touchdowns. Lamical Prine ran the ball 14 times for 130 yards and a score. Freddie Swain was the leading receiver with 146 yards and a touchdown of his own on six receptions.
David Reese II led the defense with 13 tackles. Both James Houston IV and Zachary Carter had a sack in the game. Shawn Davis, Marco Wilson, and Donovan Stiner each had interceptions.
The LSU Tigers are now 5-0 following a 42-6 win at home against Utah State. The Tigers had 32 first downs in the game, converting 11 of 17 third-down opportunities. They moved the ball for 601 total yards on offense, 353 through the air and 248 on the ground.
On defense, LSU held Utah State to just 159 yards. The Aggies had 140 passing yards and just 19 yards on the ground. With 22 carries, the Tigers held Utah State to an average of under a yard per rushing attempt.
Quarterback Joe Burrow completed 27 of 38 passes for 344 yards, five touchdowns, and an interception. Clyde Edwards-Helaire ran the ball 14 times for 72 yards. Justin Jefferson had two touchdowns and 155 yards on nine receptions.
Patrick Queen led the defense with six tackles, three of them for a loss. Both Neil Farrell Jr. and Micah Bakersville had a sack in the game. Derek Stingley Jr, Grant Delpit, and Kary vincent Jr. each had an interception.
On the season, Burrow has been able to complete 127 of 162 passes for 1,864 yards and 22 touchdowns with just three interceptions. Edwards-Helaire has 65 carries for 360 yards and five touchdowns. Jefferson has been good for 547 yards and seven scores on 30 receptions.

Free Week 7 NCAA Football Pick
The Florida defense has been one of the stingiest in the country this season. When I say that out loud, two things pop in my mind. For starters, they haven’t played anywhere that’s been as loud and hostile as Tiger Stadium will be on Saturday night. That’s does something nasty to a young quarterback’s mind. Sure, the Kentucky game was crazy. But not like this is going to be.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: LSU -13.5
Secondly, the Gators haven’t played an offense as good as LSU. In my mind, Joe Burrow is a Heisman favorite. The only thing he lacks is a couple wins in huge games. This could be one of those games for him. I like the Tigers covering the 13.5 points. If the game would have been in Gainesville things would have a lot different. But It’s not. I have to go with LSU until someone beats them at home. I think they get a big win here and go on to win the SEC West.
