The FIU Panthers have had a really solid season thus far when you consider they won their last three and their initial season losses have turned out to be against teams that are having very good seasons.
The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders have lost 4 of their last 5 and are now coming off of a heart breaker against North Texas as they were able to kick a late field goal.

FIU has shaken off some early season struggles to knock off 3 in a row and were really impressive against UTEP in their last game. The defense really was the star of the show for FIU that day as they held UTEP to only 7 points in the first 3 quarters. They were also decent on 3rd down as they held UTEP to only 6-15 on conversions.
Although FIU is more of a run first team senior starting QB James Morgan has been solid during this winning streak as he has not thrown an interception in that time. He is more likely to get closer to 30 passing attempts in this one as the Blue Raiders do have the ability to get ahead in this game and force the Panthers into passing situations.

This defense has also been stepping up as of late as they have only allowed 40 points in their last 3 games which included an impressive shutout of Umass. They will need to be solid once again here against a Blue Raiders offense who can attack you from multiple angles.
Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders
The Blue Raiders secondary was gashed in that last game and will be looking to bounceback in Murfreesboro in front of the home faithful. The secondary did force two interceptions, but also gave up 375 total yards through the air and will need to be better against James Morgan who can hurt you on his day.
One of the positive things they did in that last game was getting the running game going as they had 178 rushing yards and a very solid 5.9 yards per carry average. They were also really disciplined in that one only taking 4 penalties for 17 yards.

This offense is quarterbacked by Asher O’hara who does have the ability to hurt you with his legs and his arm, but does have a tendency to throw picks so he will need to clean things up against a decent FIU defense.
