The Buffaloes and Beavers enter this matchup on the opposite ends of the spectrum, Colorado with a 1-5 record, Oregon State at 5-2. Colorado is hoping to capitalize on its first chance at momentum, though, coming off its first win—a 20-13 victory at home vs. Cal that ended with what was possibly the most clutch defensive play of the week.
The Beavers have won two straight since their back-to-back losses to then-ranked No. 7 USC (17-14) and No. 12 Utah (42-16). The two bounce-back wins came against Stanford in a dramatic 28-27 stand, followed by a 24-10 win against Washington State last week.
The line for this one opened at Oregon State -23 on Sunday, and a few hours later, as of this writing, we’ve seen a slight rise to -23.5.

The spread here is what makes this game interesting. Twenty-three points is massive for an Oregon State team that only wins its games on average by less than a touchdown-extra point combo.
Colorado can keep this game inside that 23-point margin range by controlling the clock and staying gritty stopping the run. The Buffaloes have to be ready for the home run plays, however, that Oregon State will no doubt feel comfortable trying throughout the contest.

The Beavers have been largely strong but also hit and miss over the last month, but this isn’t as much about how much we trust Oregon State, rather how little faith we have that Colorado can be competitive.
The Beavers get an easy win here, and although a 23.5-point spread is a lot to ask of a team averaging just about 31 points per game and winning by an average margin of just 6.9 points…again, we just can’t buy Colorado.
