Last season was a rather disappointing one as they were projected to be in a fight for the conference title, but a 7-6 season was all they could muster. Tuberville is a very underrated coach. His passion for the game and ability to make programs top notch is extremely impressive.
While last season was a major disappointment, who knows what this year has in store for Cinci.
Cincinnati Bearcats Predictions: Team Strengths
Run and Gun(ner)
The Bearcats offense is the least of this team’s worries. Gunner Kiel is back at the helm and will try to break the records they shattered last season.
Gunner Kiel led the Bearcats to 18 school records, but with a new offensive coordinator and a lot of new personnel around him, Kiel is going to be asked to do a lot.

In 2015, Kiel was held out of the Hawaii Bowl for personal reasons and was said he had to earn his job back. Well, there should be no issue there as Kiel finished with 2777 yards and 19 touchdowns last year.
He is in store for a big season and will have a lot of responsibilities on his shoulders. However, after all he’s been through, he’s certainly a guy that can handle it.
Speed Kills
The Bearcats defense found success when head coach Tommy Tuberville turned to a much younger defense.
Tuberville got a lot of youngsters that can track down receivers and keep up with them on over the top balls.
Last season they jumped 20 spots in terms of rankings for defense and with those young guns now even more mature, the Bearcats could cause a lot of havoc defensively.
Cincinnati Bearcats Predictions: Team Weaknesses
Youthful Minds
The problem with being so young, is the immaturities and growing pains that it comes with.

Cincinnati was by far one of the worst teams in terms of penalties last year. They sat at 123 in the nation with an average of 73 free yards per game.
They really shot themselves in the foot a lot on both sides of the ball. They’re still a young group heading into this season, which could spell more trouble.
All Day to Throw
The Bearcats were among the worst in terms of getting in the backfield.
They managed just 13 sacks last season, which was above just 4 other FBS teams.
This could be a giant problem for them once again.
They don’t have many pass rushers that can get into the backfield and cause that havoc they need.
Their true talent comes in the secondary, which is obviously good, but they’ll need somebody to step up in terms of getting to the QB.
Cincinnati Bearcats 2016 Prediction: 9-3
Cincinnati should be able to rebound from a poor season last year.
Gunner Kiel is one of the best at what he does and has the ability to put this Cincinnati team on his back and carry them at times.

A huge key will be early in the season when they take on Houston on Thursday night in Week 3. It is such a pivotal game in terms of the AAC standings and with a home win there, it could spark a lot of good things for them.
They’ll compete in the conference, but likely don’t have enough to pull off a title.
