Fans and experts alike have been caught off guard by the struggles of Michigan State this year.
UCF and Connecticut get set for battle on Saturday as both teams look to take a giant step in the right direction toward a bowl game.
Both teams come in off losses and sit 3 games off the pace for a bowl berth.
Central Florida Knights
UCF had their 4th win set in their sights, but a late rush and touchdown pass from the Temple Owls stunned the Knights last Saturday.
After leading 25-7, the Owls found the end zone with just 1 second left to steal a win from the Knights.
Freshman McKenzie Milton threw for 210 yards, but the offensive line let him down in the loss.
Milton was sacked 7 times. They’ll get the same kind of pressure from the Huskies as they did from the Owls, which may not bode well here for them.
Look for UCF to rely heavily on their rush offense, that sits in the top tier of the nation. The Knights are averaging 207.7 yards per game on the ground, which ranks 33rd in the country.
Penalties will also be one thing to watch. The discipline wasn’t there for UCF in the loss on Saturday as they committed 12 penalties for 110 yards.
The Huskies will look for a repeat of last year’s performance, as they took it to the Central Florida Knights 40-13.
However, they’ll have to rebound after last week’s lost to the South Florida Bulls, who they simply couldn’t stop in a 42-27 loss.
The Huskies are paced offensively by the two same players typically, as Bryant Shirreffs and Noel Thomas are the two playmakers.
Shirreffs finished with 306 yards and a pair of touchdowns last week, while Thomas had 12 receptions for 127 yards.
Like the Knights, the Huskies offensive line has been a giant problem. Shirreffs was sacked 5 times last week and 20 in total this season, as they simply cannot protect him.
After last weeks loss, he couldn’t even address the media as he had to go right to the trainers office following the game.

Free Week 8 NCAA Football Prediction
This is going to be a very low scoring affair.
Both defenses are going to find success with putting pressure on the opposing QB, as the offensive lines here just aren’t stable enough.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Under 48
Neither QB will have much time to throw here, meaning the offenses will utilize the run game here and chew up a lot of clock.
