Bears vs. Hokies Gameday
I was on the under with the Bears against the Tar Heels last week, so hopefully you got that one. Anyone else an expert on Cal football…haha.
This line also jumped out with Virginia Tech being a home favorite even though they have turfed their coach amidst a disappointing season.
Cal is far from elite but perhaps deserving of more respect, even though they are travelling across the country.

There were a lot of eyes on the Bears last week as they hosted North Carolina. The atmosphere might be a little quieter for this game, for better or worse.
This is not a juggernaut team, even though they are 5-2 SU. They did not cover last week in the win, but thanks to good quarterback play, they are much more competitive than they have been in some time.
The defense has been the stronger side of the ball for the Bears this season. That is the coach’s preference too, so I expect a strong game plan.

The Hokies’ offense is averaging only 23 points and 359 yards per game, with a relatively balanced attack that slightly favors the run.
Quarterback Kyron Drones has thrown for 1,397 yards and 11 touchdowns against 5 interceptions, with a 60% completion rate.
The ground game is led by running back Marcellous Hawkins, who has rushed for 364 yards and one touchdown, while Drones himself is a key factor in the running game too, with five rushing touchdowns.
