2019 Football Preview – Big Ten – Badgers
Looking for 2019 Wisconsin Badgers predictions? The Badgers finished with an 8-5 record last year which is still good, but they were not happy with the way they played, especially down the stretch of the season. This season not many know what to expect with the Badgers. There are some who think they can compete for the Big Ten, while others think this could be a season where the Badgers struggle and there will be some calling for a coaching change.

So how will this year work out in Wisconsin?
2019 Wisconsin Badgers Predictions: Team Strengths
Running Wild: There are some questions on offense for the Badgers, but one of those question marks isn’t at running back.
Jonathan Taylor is the best back in the Big Ten, and one of the best in the league. Last season he ran wild going for 2,194 yards and 16 touchdowns.

They are still looking for a good number two back to go behind him, but if he can run for over 2,000 again this season, they probably won’t be leaning on him much.
Experienced defense: Eight of the 11 starters of last years defense are back this season, and that type of experience is going to really help.
The strongest part of the defense should be the secondary and that is going to come in handy against a few Big Ten teams who can really pass.
2019 Wisconsin Badgers Predictions: Team Weaknesses
Quarterback Questions: There is a very good chance this doesn’t actually turn into a weakness but there could be some growing pains.

Jack Coan filled in last season when the Badgers needed someone and he will probably get the first crack this season.
If he struggles it will be freshman Graham Mertz who could end up being one of the best quarterbacks since Russell Wilson at Wisconsin.
He is young though, so early there could be some growing pains that hurt the team especially early in the season.
Offensive Line: The Badgers have always been known for great offensive lines but they weren’t as dominant as they needed to be last year.
This is another thing that could end up being a strength by the end of the season, but right now this has to be considered a weakness.
Wisconsin Badgers Prediction: 8-4
The Badgers open up the season against a tough USF team but as long as they get past them they should have no issue going undefeated out of the conference.
In the Big Ten portion of the schedule they di get a tough draw. They have to play Ohio State, Michigan and Michigan State and there is a good chance they lose all three of those games.

I think in a couple of years the Badgers will be back to their old ways competiting for Big Ten titles, but it won’t happen this year.
I still think they finish with nine wins, but three conference losses won’t be enough to get them into the Big Ten title game.
