2019 Football Preview – Mountain West – Aggies
Looking for 2019 Utah State Aggies predictions? What is old is new again for Utah State. Coming off one of their best seasons in the history of the program they lost their coach Matt Wells to Texas Tech. Rather than look too far they tabbed former program builder Gary Andersen to take the reins. It will be interesting to see how it goes.

The Mountain West is a competitive league and it looks like the Aggies might be stepping back a bit this season.
2019 Utah State Aggies Predictions: Team Strengths
Love Affair: A lot has changed for the Aggies this season. The one thing that has not is the man who will be pulling the trigger on the offense, quarterback Jordan Love.
Given that he plays for Utah State you might not know much about him but Love was one of the most productive quarterbacks in the nation last season.
Love is just a junior but many expect this will be his last season with the Aggies before he is off to the NFL.
Utah State was among the highest scoring offenses in the nation last season but this year Love is going to have to carry more of the load. He looks more than ready to do so.
The Defense is Still Strong: The Aggies only gave up 22ppg on defense last season. A lot of the key faces return.
Tipa Galeai is coming off a great where he recorded 10 sacks. He is going to anchor a really good defensive line that might be the best in the conference.
At the next level David Woodward is the reigning Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year. He only had 134 tackles and 5 sacks last season.
2019 Utah State Aggies Predictions: Team Weaknesses
Looking for Skill Players: This offense was second in the country in scoring last season. Less than half their rushing and receiving production is returning though.
Not making things any easier for the skills guys including the quarterback is the fact that just 20% of their offensive line
At running back they are going to take a commitee approach and hope a hot hand emerges at some point in the season. The line will have to help them out.
Out wide Love will help but there is nobody returning who had as many as 30 catches last season.
They are also going to be without TE Dax Raymond who was twice an All MWC selection
If the offense is not firing on all cylinders it is going to put a lot of pressure on the defense that is good but not good enough to carry the team.
Utah State Aggies Prediction: 6-6
We should know a fair amount about the Aggies after week one. They are hitting the road to take on Wake Forest. Hardly a power team but on the road and far from home.
Their other nonconference games include a seemingly sure loss, at LSU and a sure win, hosting Stoney Brook.
In the Mountain West they face all of the contenders in the league, hosting Boise State and visiting Fresno State and San Diego State. If they can get those road wins earlier on then the Broncos game becomes a big one the second to last week. I think that is going to be too tall an order for this team.
There is no reason to think Andersen is going to be a bust his second go around with the Aggies. This season might be one of transition though.
