2019 Football Preview – Independent – Fighting Irish
Looking for 2019 Notre Dame Fighting Irish predictions? The Fighting Irish ran another good regular season last year but the playoffs rolled around and they weren’t battle-tested enough to have success. The expectations again this season are that they can compete for the FBS title, but it’s going to be an uphill climb.

2019 Notre Dame Fighting Irish Predictions: Team Strengths
Big Guys up Front: Notre Dame has always been known for having a great offensive line and it won’t be any different this season.
6-6, 319-pound senior Tommy Kraemer is a standout guard and he will be playing on Sunday’s after this season is over.
305-pound left tackle Liam Eichenberg is one of the best-left tackles in the country and should be a high draft pick in the next draft.
The only real question is who will be playing center, but they have plenty of young choices who should fill in right away.
Experience on defense: Some of the defense is gone, but six of the top ten tacklers are back and expectations are high for a defense that allowed just 18 points per game last year.
On the back end they are led by Troy Pride at corner who will be matched up with the opposing teams best wide receiver.
The defensive line is also going to be another strength, as long as the team can find a replacement for Jerry Tillery.
2019 Notre Dame Fighting Irish Predictions: Team Weaknesses
How will the running game do?: The big question for this team this year is who is going to step up at running back.
Dexter Williams was the star of the team last year, but he is gone now and there are a lot of questions about who will replace him.
Jafar Armstrong, Jr. is the guy that has high expectations but it’s no sure thing that he is going to live up to the expectations.
Another weak schedule: Last year the talk was about how weak of a schedule they played and they weren’t ready for the playoffs.
This year they do play Georgia and Michigan but otherwise, most of the season seems like a big cupcake. That might be enough to get them into the playoffs but will it be enough to get them a win once they get there?
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Prediction: 11-1
The Fighting Irish I think are going to have a lot of success during the regular season with their only loss coming against Michigan or Georgia.
I’m not sure 11-1 with their schedule will be enough to get into the CFB playoff but if they do, I don’t see any way they compete.
