2019 Football Preview – Big 12- Jayhawks
Looking for 2019 Kansas Jayhawks predictions? Kansas made a splash in hiring Les Miles to be the head coach. It seems like an odd fit but you can’t say that Miles isn’t a winner. He is going to be challenged with having to be more tactical than he has ever been though and that might not be a strong suit. Still, what are things going to get worse.

Kansas is still going to be the worst team in the league this season. Miles will hopefully provide some energy but he can’t turnover the personnel that quickly.
2019 Kansas Jayhawks Predictions: Team Strengths
Pooka: When it comes to Kansas you have to use the term strength somewhat loosely, and comparatively.
As this is being written it is not entirely clear as to the stats of Pooka Williams. If he is available then the Jayhawks have one of the most dangerous offensive players in the league.
Williams ran for more than 1000 yards last season and tore up Oklahoma, rushing for 250. You have to account for him on every play and Kansas does not have any other guys of that calibre.
The rest of the running backs can be productive but they are not fearsome. .
Helping up front: The offensive line is going to be one of the most experienced units on the teams.
There is some talent there too with Hakeem Adeniji earning second team all B12 honours last season. The rest of the group might not be elite but they are not new.
Nick Williams is an intriguing prospect at 6’8″ tall. When you are that big you do not have to be as technical and it might be worth giving him a spot to lose and see what happens with Kansas.
2019 Kansas Jayhawks Predictions: Team Weaknesses
QB Who?: Kansas has not only been bad the last several seasons they have had no identity. That usually starts with the quarterback and there are questions there.
The guy who looks like he will get the job is Thomas MacVittie, a one time Pitt commit who arrives in Kansas via junior college. He is a big time athlete but untested at this level.
Carter Stanley is a senior who has taken the reigns at various times throughout his career but if they were going to win with him or because of him they would have done it already.
I bet you didn’t know that Kansas has had an All American at linebacker the last two years in Joe Dineen. He came close to making every tackle for the Jayhawks of late.
He might be replaced by his brother but the linebacking corps in general is of concern until they get guys on the field and see who has the instincts and abilities to take over those duties.
Kansas is not blessed with the kind of rangy athletic prospects others have in abundance. They need their guys to play smart and fast and never make mistakes. Its tough.
Kansas Jayhawks Prediction: 3-9
Given the state of the program it is going to be interesting to evaluate the Jayhawks this season.
They should start 2-0 thanks to hosting Indiana State and Coastal Carolina. If not they are going to be in real trouble as things are worse than expected.
Once league play starts I only see one win on the schedule when Kansas State comes to town. The Wildcats are in transition too.
If they get a magical fourth win then Miles is having a huge impact or another program is really struggling. More likely the latter.
