Is this Ohio State’s conference again? Or will someone else step up?
Big 10 Conference 2019 Odds: Ohio State +105
Ohio State had another good season last year but there are some real question marks surronding how this team will perform.
Urban Meyer decided to step away from the game and in comes Ryan Day. Around the program, most believe they won’t skip a beat, but nationally there are some real questions.
This team is still talented but they did lose some key recruits after Meyer decided to step away and that could hurt the program in a few years.
The good news for the Buckeyes is that former five-star recruit Justin Fields was given a waiver so he can play right away for the buckeyes.
This is his first time starting but he has been in the college game for a year, so there is hope he can make the transition right away.
On the defensive side they need to play better then they did last year. At times they really struggled and they need to take a step forward.
Big 10 Conference 2019 Odds: Michigan Wolverines +225
This feels like the year the Wolverines can get past the Buckeyes, but every time we think that, it never ends up working out.
Shea Patterson was the big offseason addition last season but he didn’t live up to the expectations that were surronding him.
They are switching to a spread offense and that should help Shea Patterson take a step forward. This season is still probably going to come down to one thing, can they beat the Buckeyes?
This seems like the year that they can, but it’s like they get too nervous when they play them and that leads them to a loss in the game.
Big 10 Conference 2019 Odds: Penn State +1000
The Penn State Nittany Lions come into this season with the third best odds in the Big 10 conference, but I just don’t see it.
Trace McSorley is gone to the NFL and the team lost backup quarterback Tommy Stevens to Mississippi State. Will Levis and Sean Clifford are fighting for the starting job, but they still haven’t announced which one has come away with the job.
That is concerning because that means no one has separated themselves. I think the quarterback play is going to hurt them, and even at this number, I would not bet any money.
Big 10 Conference 2019 Odds: Wisconsin +1405
The Wisconsin Badgers have Jonathan Taylor and they do play in the weaker division, which could give them a good advantage in the Big 10 race, especially at a nice price.
The big question is how will the quarterback play be. If the quarterback play struggles, this will be a bad season and I could predict that the coaching staff could be on the hot seat.
Big 10 Conference 2019 Odds
Ohio State +105
Penn State +1000
Michigan State +1800
Big 10 Conference: 2019 Prediction
The Ohio State Buckeyes are my pick to win this just because of how much better they are than everyone else. If you want to bet someone with some worse odds, I would take a long hard look at Minnesota or Nebraska.
