2018 Tulane Green Wave Predictions: Team Strengths
Ground Game Strong : It took a little bit to catch on, but Willie Fritz has done a good job running the triple option to success.
The one thing that they have that most triple options don’t have is a quarterback who can actually throw the ball. Jonathan Banks is going to be under center, and although he was second on the team in rushing, he also did a really good job of passing the ball. at least for an offense that likes to run the ball.
Their leading rusher from last year is gone, but there is a ton of talent in the backfield that can step up in his place.
This offense is going to be good this year again and is going to be a key in making it back to one of those bowl games.
Man in Charge: The biggest strength for this team is the man in charge Willie Fritz who has done a really good his whole career getting the best out of his players.
He is an offensive genius and it has shown in the way that he has helped with a Tulane offense that was so bad for so many years.
2018 Tulane Green Wave Predictions: Team Weaknesses
Where’s the Pass Rush?: The biggest change that needs to happen with the Tulane defense is getting more of a pass rush.
They only had 14 sacks last year, and that needs to change in a big way this year. Getting a pass rush will help the secondary be better and create an overall better defense.
Look for that to be a big key early in the offseason as they dial up some pressure to get to quarterbacks early and often.
Better run defense: Last year the run defense was a struggle giving up way too many yards all over the field.
They need to stop those long runs from happening. If they can stop the long runs from happening this defense is going to be much improved.
Tulane Green Wave Prediction: 6-6
The Green Wave finally get over that hump and get back to a bowl game,
The front seven of the defense is going to be much better and that will win them an extra game and get them back into the postseason.
