Looking for 2018 Old Dominion Monarchs predictions? The Monarchs had quite the season two years ago, but last year they took a step back but winning five games with how they played was actually quite impressive. They had a chance to make a bowl game with a win in their last game but they couldn’t get the job done. This is supposed to be a bounce back year for this team.

2018 Old Dominion Monarchs Predictions: Team Strengths
Can’t really go back : In all honesty there really isn’t anywhere to go from up here. Now of course they could lose more games this year, but chances are they aren’t going to play much worse this year.
Last year the defense was terrible and the offense couldn’t get much of anything going. Towards the end of the year Steven Williams took over and she showed some flashes of how he could be.
He still really wasn’t elite or spectacular, but he showed flashes that the Monarchs might have something to build around with him.

As long as he doesn’t turn the ball over this year, things are looking up.
Experience on Defense: The defense wasn’t wonderful last year, but they do have experience and that should be big as they try to improve this year.
If they had strong offseason the defense can be good, but that is still a big if. They at least have been here before.
2018 Old Dominion Monarchs Predictions: Team Weaknesses
Targets out side: The biggest problem with the Monarchs offense this year might be the targets out side catching the ball.
They don’t have any tight ends with many receptions and outside the wide receivers have struggled to find a way to get in the end zone.
They need to find someone to step up. If no one steps up, it’s going to be a long season for an offense that struggled so much last year.

Winning Culture?: This team lost too many close games last year, and I think that it will be a problem again this year.
This team isn’t used to winning games especially when they are close and that is going to be really troublesome.
Old Dominion Monarchs Prediction: 6-6
I think this team will be a little better this year, but not great. I think they will win one more game and get bowl eligible.

I just don’t think the culture is great and they are going to lose a few close games and that is going to be the difference between an okay and a great season.
