2018 Football Preview – MAC – Bobcats
Looking for 2018 Ohio Bobcats predictions? The Bobcats were the best team in the MAC last year, but a late collapse caused them to not make the MAC title game. This year they are expected to be the best team again, but as they learned last year, that doesn’t mean anything.

This year will they prove they are the best team in the MAC, or will something happen like last year?
2018 Ohio Bobcats Predictions: Team Strengths
Vetern offense : Eight starters return to this years team from last year’s offense and that should make for some really good results.
One of those returning players is Nathan Rourke who burst onto the scene last year, and it looks like the Bobcats offense is in good hands at the quarterback for the next few years.
Last year he threw for 2203 yards and 17 touchdowns and only seven interceptions. At times the intercpetions were an issue but if he can not turn the ball over this year, that is huge.
Besides Rourke they are going to have an explosive running game, and they are going to really rely on that to take some of the pressure off Rourke.
Down Year: The MAC is down this year, and that should be helpful in this team making it back to the MAC Championships.
They can’t overlook the other teams in the conference though, or the same thing will happen that happened last year.
2018 Ohio Bobcats Predictions: Team Weaknesses
Turning the Ball Over: There were too many games last year where the Bobcats had too many turnovers and they an’t have that happen again this year.
They need to stop coughing up the ball through the air and on the ground, and get the offense out to a fast start. There were too many drives killed last year, because of the offense couging up the ball.
They made it a focus this offseason, and the results need to be better.
Young Defense: On the defensive side of the ball this team is going to be young, very young. They are losing eight of the top 13 tacklers from last year.
Young guys are going to get thrown into the fire, and they need to step up early. A lot of weight is going to be on the shoulders of some very young guys.
Ohio Bobcats Prediction: 10-2
Cincinnati and Virginia are both hard contests, but if they can go 1-1 in those two contests that has to feel like a major win.
I wouldn’t be shocked if they win both those games, and have a chance to run the table this year. I think they will finish with at least 10 wins in the regular season.
I think they will win the MAC Championship game and get a nice bowl game.
