Miami is a favourite to return to the ACC title game and maybe a dark horse playoff team.
2018 Miami Hurricanes Predictions: Team Strengths
Linebacker U Once More: When the program was becoming the “U” that everyone loved to hate it was the defense that really set the tone.
They return seven starters on defense, none more vital than the linebacking trio of Zach McLoud, Shaq Quarterman and Michael Pinckney.
All three are juniors and likely NFL players in the not so distant future.

Kizer was much more efficient in the spring game, but it’s unknown who will get the starting job. However, having this dilemma is quite the blessing as either QB can lead this team to an impressive season.
Depth in Secondary: Last year Miami was 6th in the nation in turnover margin at +13.
The secondary returns three starters as well including Jaquan Johnson and Michael Jackson, who each had four interceptions a year ago. Johnson also led the team in tackles
The third returning starter is safety Sheldrick Redwine. He is much more than a guy with an interesting last name.
2018 Miami Hurricanes Predictions: Team Weaknesses
Somebody has to catch the ball?: Miami is never short of speedy athletes to catch the ball but the current receiving corps lacks a proven producer.
Ahhmon Richards is one of the fastest players around but his production fell way below what he showed as a freshman. They need him healthy and buzzing around the field.
Malik Rosier is a senior quarterback looking to finish his career strong but he needs this group to come together and help him out.

Miami has to be a little concerned that last year was a tale of two season: 10-0 start followed by three straight losses.
All of the losses were by 10 or more too, the most puzzling being the one that started the slide, losing by 10 at a bad Pitt team.
Even though coach Mark Richt has had some good success at Miami, there are still lingering thoughts that he cannot win the big games.
Miami Hurricanes Prediction: 11-1
I am not sure Miami is a Top 10 team but they are likely to be favoured in all of their games this season.
In looking at the schedule as it stands the game that stands out for me as a potential loss is a November visit to Blacksburg.
Getting Florida State at home this season should not be too bad and LSU at a neutral to start the season is not too bad.

Playing in the Coastal is once again going to be an advantage as they get to avoid Clemson during the regular season.
