2018 Football Preview – AAC – Tigers
Looking for 2018 Memphis Tigers predictions? The Tigers used to be one of the laughing stocks of the AAC. They have really turned it around and now are one of the best, but now they need to turn that into postseason success. In each of the last three years they have lost bowl games and that has left the season ending on sour notes.

Can this be the year they actually have a nice regular season and also win a bowl game?
2018 Memphis Tigers Predictions: Team Strengths
Strong Running Game : With how well the passing offense was last year the running backs didn’t get a ton of credit but they were fantastic last year, and will be back for more for this year.
The top two running backs are back for this season and they are going to be leaned on heavily with a new quarterback coming into the fold.
Darrell Henderson rushed for over 1100 yards last year, and that number should take a big leap forward with more landing on his shoulders.
They also have Tony Pollard who can work on the outside, and get mismatches through the passing game, and is one of the better pass-catching backs in the league.

Look for the Tigers to really lean on their guys coming out of the backfield, and for all three guys to have huge years.
Good Recievers: The good news for whoever is the quarterback is that they are going to have a lot of good quality guys to throw too.
Pollard was a running back last year but this year is going to be the featured wide receiver, and with his speed, he is going to be really good.
2018 Memphis Tigers Predictions: Team Weaknesses
Who’s playing quarterback?: Gone is Riley Ferguson one of the best players in program history and whoever steps up is going to have big shoes to fill.
Brady White and David Moore are going to be competing for the job, and look for the passing game to be a bit different from last year.
They are still going to run a fast offense, but don’t look for them to try to run as many plays as fast as possible.
It will still be a fast pace, but it will be slowed down just a bit, at least early to try and get the offense settled in with a new guy under center.

Defense needs to improve: Last year the Tigers were involved in a lot of shootouts, and that was because of the struggles of the defense.
This year that same defense is going to need to be better. They need to put pressure on the backfield early in games and hit the quarterback a few times.
Memphis Tigers Prediction: 8-4
The AAC is better and the Tigers still need to figure out their quarterback position, which I think is going to lead to a bit of a step back.

I think they will still finish with eight wins and make a bowl game, and this time I think they will win that bowl game.
